Chapter 5 - "James Luke Parker"

After a few minutes of driving, they finally arrived at the reunion, this time the reunion was very lively and exciting, and quite crowded.

"Are you sure we can go back, I don't think it's safe here after what you've been through." said Amanda worried about Katherine safety

"No, I don't think they will look for me here, it's quite a crowded place, they won't dare to show their identity" said Katherine trusting herself

"Alright, promise don't stay too far from me" said Amanda walking next to her worried grabbing her hand, and hold it tightly

Suddenly the sound of footsteps was heard from behind, Katherine and Amanda panicked a little, they were silent for a moment and didn't move to make sure whether they were just paranoid.

"Did you hear that?" whispers Amanda to Katherine stood in frozen

"Yeah, I did, should we run?" whispers back Katherine to Amanda grabbing tight Amanda hand

"Hey, you're here, nice to see you again" said Cameron to Katherine suddenly come out from his car and walking towards them

"Cameron Hepburn, long time no see" greet Amanda shocked suddenly saw Cameron waking towards them

"Amanda Toire, long time no see" muttered Cameron a little shocked to saw her

"Yeah" reply Amanda gave him a warm awkward smile

"So why are you two standing here, come on in." said Cameron to them gave them a warm smile

"I didn't know Cameron would be here." whispers Amanda to Katherine slightly smiled

Amanda and Cameron were ex-boyfriends in 10th grade in high school, they only dated for about two months and broke up after that, and never interacted again until now.

"Meeting your ex, for the first time since graduation must be awkward" muttered Katherine teasing Amanda

"Yeah, I guess" reply Amanda annoyed walking inside

Entering the reunion they saw a lot of friends they hadn't seen in a long time, Amanda went to talk to some people, while Katherine sat on the couch drinking and looking around.

Katherine took a sip of the drink and was surprised that this was the first time in years that she had not seen Tom Anderson since the graduation. Katherine saw Tom walking towards her while holding a glass of wine, Katherine was quite panicked because she was nervous because she hadn't seen him for a long time.

"So you don't like parties either?" ask Tom sat next to her taking a sip from his glass, while staring at the crowds

"It's too crowded" reply Katherine anxious

"I'm sorry, your face looks familiar, do we know each other?" ask Tom to Katherine staring at her curiously

"Yes actually we do, you're Tom Anderson, and I'm Katherine Dullinghan" reply Katherine to him smiled

"Oh Katherine, Kate Dullinghan, right?" said Tom suddenly remembered her and gave her a warm smile

"Yeah, I'm Kate Dullinghan" reply Katherine smiling happily

"So how are you, I never really get to know you" said Tom awkwardly to Katherine

"I'm good, and you?" ask Katherine to Tom

"Yeah I'm also good" reply Tom to Katherine grabbing the glass and tossing it to her

"I heard, you're a lawyer" Katherine said suddenly

"Yeah, I am, actually I'm working on a case right now" reply Tom to Katherine

"Hey Tom come join us, there's someone you need to know" said a woman in the crowded dance floor

The room became more awkward because there was very little they could talk about.

"Well then, see you again sometime, we can go grab a drink together next time, and nice to meet you." said Tom getting up from his seat and walk away to the crowds

As Tom left, Cameron suddenly approached and headed towards Katherine who was still sitting near the couch drinking her wine.

"Cameron, do you already know where those letters come from?" ask Katherine curiously after saw Cameron approaching her

"After I did some investigation with the team, we found that this is not an ordinary thing, but rather a trademark" said Cameron to Katherine sat beside her

"What do you mean, a trademark?" ask Katherine confused

"Yes, this is one of the trademarks that is quite well-known in the criminal world, They are not just one person, but they are a large group." said Cameron to Katherine

"What do you mean by that, I'm still a little confused, can you explain more detail?" ask Katherine staring at Cameron with a blank thought

From afar, Amanda, who was talking to several people, accidentally saw the interaction between Katherine and Cameron, which made her quite surprised because what they were discussing seemed very intense.

"We are not sure because they are like high-class criminals who are wanted by the FBI, they work in groups, like gangsters, and this letters is one of their trademark, also known as the criminals." explain Cameron to Katherine

"the criminals, so what do they want from me why did they send me this threatening letter?" ask Katherine to Cameron gripping tight her glass

"Have you been involved with them before, or are one of their members?" ask Cameron to Katherine seriously

"I..." Katherine said and suddenly her speech been cut off by Amanda suddenly handing a piece of pie to Katherine

"Kate, I'm sorry did I ruin your talk with Cameron, but I think you need to taste this" said Katherine gave her the pie

"No, you're not, thanks Amy" reply Katherine with a smile take a bite on the pie

"It tastes good, right?" said Amanda smiled to Katherine who is still trying to digest it

"Yeah it's sweet" reply Katherine smiled

"Cameron, I think you should have a try too, later" said Amanda smiled and walked away

"So Katherine, can we get back to the topic?" ask Cameron to them

"Yeah sure, sorry for bothering you" said Amanda then walking away look a little annoyed

"What's wrong with her, why is she acting so arrogant to me?" muttered Cameron staring at Katherine confused

"I think I will talk to her, thanks for your information, let's talk again in the station later" said Katherine to Cameron getting up from the couch and waking towards the crowds
