The sorting ceremony

Every first-years walked into the hall before Professor McGonagall stepped in.

“Welcome to Hogwarts,”

“Before taking seats in thee great hall, you’ll be sorted into your houses. The sorting ceremony is very important because while you are here, your house will be your family in Hogwarts. You will have classes with the rest of your house, sleep and spend free time in your house.”

“The four houses are called Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin. Each house has its own history and each has produced outstanding witches and wizards. The sorting ceremony will begin in a few minutes.”

“What will the ceremony be?” Someone wondered

Professor McGonagall silently placed a stool in front of all first-years. On top she put an old wizard’s hat. Then a rip near the brim of the hat opened likee a mouth and it began to sing.

“You may think I’m not pretty,

But don’t judge on what you see,

I”ll eat myself if you can find

a smarter hat than me.

There’s nothing in your head

the sorting hat can’t see,

So try me on and I will tell you,

Which house are you ought to be.

You might belong to Gryffindor,

Where dwell the brave of heart,

Their daring, nerve and chivalry

set Gryffindors apart.

You might belong in Hufflepuff,

Where they are just and loyal,

Those patient Hufflepuff are true,

and unafraid of toil.

Or yet in wise Ravenclaw,

If you’ve a ready mind,

Where those of wit and learning,

will always find there kind.

Or perhaps in Slytherin,

You’ll make your real friend,

Those cunning folk use any means

to achieve their ends.

So put me on, don’t be afraid.

And don’t get in a flap.

You’re in safe hands

for I’m a thinking cap!”

Professor McGonagall started calling first-years by their family name’s first alphabet respectively to try on the hat.

“Athenia, Rebecca!”

A girl stepped on, sit on the stool and put the hat on.

“Hufflepuff!” The hat shouted.

“What house do I want to belong?” Someone asked

“Bellever, David!”

A boy stepped on and put the sorting hat on.

“Slytherin!” It shouted.

“Clairrey Irene!”

Irene stepped on.

“Ravenclaw!”

Irene proceeded to the great hall and take a seat in the Ravenclaw’s table.

“Clairrey Iris!”

Iris whispered to herself “Ravanclaw, please,” before putting the sorting hat on.

“Ravenclaw!”

Iris happily walked towards the Ravenclaw’s table in the great hall.

“Fillava, William”

“Gryffindor!”

…

The ceremony continued as the same, Professor McGonagall call students, then that student came put the sorting hat on, and the sorting hat shouted the house that student was ought to be.

It continued smoothly until McGonagall called…

“The last one to do sorting, Tanaka Natsu!”

Everyone looked at the last person who stepped on. A girl with short black hair, looking not like any other British students in Hogwarts. Natsu put the sorting hat on, thinking about the twin that she had seen at the station. They are all at the Ravenclaw’s table right now.

“So hard, so hard.” The hat murmured.

“You’re brave hearted, patient and loyal, also wise,”

“Though you’re not pure blooded, not cunning. You seemed to belong to all Gryffindor, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw,”

Natsu was nervous. Why should the sorting hat think about her with so long time?

“I once heard, a Gryffindor would die bravely for you, a Hufflepuff would die together with you, a Slytherin would kill your enemy for you, but a Ravenclaw would choose the solution which no one dies. I prefer not to die and not to kill.” She thought.

“Eh? You say, from this quote, you prefer Ravenclaw?” The hat murmured.

“Nah, you said you know everything in my head, yeah? So tell me where shall I belong,” She thought.

“You can be brave and powerful in Gryffindor, gentle and hard-working in Hufflepuff, wise and good in Ravenclaw,”

“But, your heart screams RAVENCLAW!”

Natsu headed to the Ravenclaw table. She had the feast happily.

Then, everyone goes to their house’s dormitory.

“I heard it’s renovated.” Natsu said.

She went up on the Ravenclaw dormitory building and entered her room to find out that her roommates are Iris and Irene!

The classes are going to begin.
