Heirs of Noctis

Heirs of Noctis

CHAPTER 1 — “A NORMAL MORNING DOESN’T EXIST HERE”

The city always looked like it was pretending.

Glass buildings reflected sunlight too perfectly. Streets were too clean for how many people walked them. Even the noise felt organized—like it had been arranged instead of created.

And yet, everyone called it normal.

Ren Akihara

Ren Akihara jogged down the sidewalk with his school bag half open, tie slightly loose, uniform already looking like it had survived a small war with his morning.

Appearance:

Messy dark hair that never sits properly

Sharp blue-gray eyes that look bright even when he’s tired

Lean build, slightly athletic but not intimidating

Always has a “just got out of chaos” energy

Outfit:

Standard elite school uniform (white shirt, dark blazer)

Tie loosened or slightly crooked

Sleeves often half-adjusted like he gave up halfway

Shoes slightly scuffed from running late every day

In one hand: bread.

In the other: nothing important.

He looked like someone who was always in a hurry but never actually stressed.

A passerby bumped into him.

“Sorry!” they said quickly.

Ren waved without looking.

“It’s fine!”

And kept moving.

Nobody looking at him would think he was born into one of the Top 5 richest families.

Because he didn’t look like it.

He didn’t act like it.

He didn’t care about it.

Aiko Mizuno

“You’re late.”

The voice came instantly.

Ren didn’t even need to look.

He slid into his seat.

“Morning, Aiko.”

“It’s not morning anymore.”

“Emotionally it is.”

Aiko didn’t respond immediately.

Appearance:

Long black hair, neatly kept and usually tied low

Soft brown eyes that feel calm but sharp when focused

Slim, tidy posture that always looks composed

Has a naturally “organized” presence

Outfit:

Perfectly neat school uniform

Shirt properly tucked in

Tie straight and properly adjusted

Clean blazer with no wrinkles

Looks like she actually follows rules

She sighed and returned to her book.

But she didn’t tell him to stop talking.

That was their rhythm.

The classroom was already full of noise.

Then it shifted.

Not loudly.

Not dramatically.

Just subtly.

Like attention had moved somewhere without permission.

Hana Kurose

She entered.

Not late. Not early.

Exactly when it felt like she chose to.

Appearance:

Long dark brown hair, straight and smooth, falling naturally

Calm, pale face with soft but unreadable features

Eyes dark and steady, giving little emotional feedback

Slim figure, graceful without trying

Presence that feels “quietly distant”

Outfit:

Standard elite school uniform

Blazer worn properly but slightly loose at the shoulders

Shirt clean, collar neat

Skirt perfectly aligned, no casual imperfections

Uniform looks expensive but not styled for attention

She didn’t look around.

She didn’t acknowledge anyone.

She simply walked to a window seat and sat down.

Like she had already decided the room didn’t need her permission.

Whispers spread instantly.

Ren tilted his head slightly.

“…Huh.”

Aiko glanced at him. “What?”

“Nothing,” he said. “She’s just… weirdly calm.”

Aiko’s eyes followed her briefly.

“…Yeah,” she said quietly. “Weirdly.”

Kairo Velis

At the back corner of the classroom, someone was already there.

Almost invisible unless you were looking for him.

Appearance:

Dark silver hair, slightly tousled but controlled

Pale skin with a calm, almost polished look

Gray eyes that look soft but don’t really focus emotionally

Hands often relaxed, posture lazy but deliberate

Presence that feels “too quiet to be accidental”

Outfit:

Elite school uniform worn perfectly but casually

Blazer unbuttoned slightly

Tie loose but still neat enough to look intentional

Shirt collar relaxed, not strict

Everything looks effortless but expensive

Kairo leaned back in his chair.

His expression was relaxed.

Almost bored.

Students nearby whispered:

“He’s always like that…” “Feels like he’s not even here half the time.”

Kairo smiled faintly at something someone said.

A perfect smile.

Warm.

Natural.

Human.

But nothing behind it changed.

His gaze briefly moved.

To Hana.

Then to Ren.

Then away.

Like none of it required emotional involvement.

The teacher walked in.

“Sit down. We’re starting.”

The room slowly settled.

Normal class began.

But in that first period of silence—

three lives had already been placed in the same room.

One loud, unaware of his true weight

One calm, observing everything silently

One smiling like a person without actually feeling like one

And none of them had any idea yet—

that this was the moment their lives quietly started binding together.
