Jeon Jungkook couldn’t stop thinking about those words.
“Don’t smile at other people like that.”
The sentence followed him home, replayed in his mind while he showered, while he tried to sleep, even while staring at the ceiling in frustration at three in the morning.
It sounded ridiculous.
Taehyung was the one acting cold.
The one avoiding him.
The one pretending years of memories meant nothing.
So why was he acting jealous?
Jungkook buried his face into his pillow with a tired groan.
“This is driving me crazy…”
The next morning arrived too quickly.
After barely sleeping, Jungkook dragged himself toward the small café where he worked during weekends. The warm smell of coffee filled the air as customers quietly chatted around him.
For a while, the busy atmosphere helped distract him.
Until the café door opened.
Jungkook looked up automatically—
And nearly dropped the tray in his hands.
Taehyung walked inside calmly, dressed entirely in black again as if he personally enjoyed ruining Jungkook's peace.
Jungkook stared at him in disbelief.
Why did he keep appearing everywhere?
One of Jungkook’s coworkers suddenly leaned closer and whispered excitedly,
“Wow… he’s handsome.”
Jungkook immediately frowned for some reason.
Taehyung's sharp gaze noticed the reaction instantly.
Then slowly—
A faint smirk appeared on his lips.
Jungkook looked away first.
Annoying.
Very annoying.
Taehyung casually chose a seat near the window before crossing one leg over the other, looking completely relaxed.
Unfortunately, Jungkook was assigned to his table.
Taking a deep breath, he walked over carefully with his notepad.
“What would you like to order?”
Taehyung looked up at him lazily.
“You sound like you hate me.”
Jungkook nearly choked.
“I’m working.”
“And I’m ordering.”
The calm response only irritated him more.
Jungkook forced himself to stay professional. “What do you want?”
Taehyung stared at him quietly for a moment before speaking.
“Coffee.”
“That’s all?”
“You’ll choose the rest.”
Jungkook blinked in confusion. “Why me?”
“Because you remember what I like.”
The words hit unexpectedly hard.
Of course Jungkook remembered.
Taehyung hated overly sweet drinks.
Preferred iced coffee even during winter.
Always picked chocolate desserts but pretended not to like sweets.
Jungkook swallowed softly before writing down the order.
A few minutes later, he returned with the coffee and a slice of chocolate cake.
Taehyung glanced at the dessert before looking back at him.
“You still remember.”
Jungkook tried to ignore the strange warmth in his chest.
“You used to eat this every week.”
A quiet silence settled between them.
For the first time since Taehyung returned, the tension felt different.
Less sharp.
Almost nostalgic.
Then suddenly—
A male customer approached the counter and smiled brightly at Jungkook.
“Can I get your number?”
Jungkook froze in surprise.
“Huh?”
“You’re cute,” the stranger admitted casually. “I’ve seen you here before.”
Before Jungkook could respond, a loud sound interrupted the moment.
Taehyung had placed his coffee cup down hard enough to make nearby customers look over.
The atmosphere instantly turned cold.
Taehyung slowly stood from his seat.
His expression remained calm.
But his eyes looked dangerous.
The stranger stepped back nervously without understanding why.
Taehyung walked directly toward them before stopping beside Jungkook.
Then, without warning—
He grabbed Jungkook's wrist tightly.
The familiar bracelet slipped slightly beneath his fingers.
Taehyung’s gaze stayed fixed on the stranger as he spoke quietly.
“He’s not interested.”
The customer looked confused. “And you are…?”
Taehyung's grip tightened slightly.
Someone dangerous.
The unspoken answer filled the silence.
The stranger awkwardly apologized before quickly leaving the café.
Jungkook stared at Taehyung in shock.
“What was that?!”
Taehyung finally looked down at him.
His expression was unreadable again.
But his next words made Jungkook's heartbeat lose control completely.
“You were mine first,” Taehyung said softly.
Then, after a pause—
“So don’t let strangers look at you like that.”
