The Broken Hut

Morning sunlight filtered through the bamboo forest like flowing gold.

Lin Jie slowly opened his eyes.

For a brief moment, he forgot where he was. Then the cold mountain air touched his face, and reality hit immediately.

The broken hut.

The strange mountains.

The impossible forest.

“…Right.”

He sat up quietly.

The wooden floor creaked beneath him while dust drifted lazily through the sunlight. Outside, wind rustled through the bamboo trees surrounding the cabin.

Compared to the freezing rain from yesterday, the valley looked almost peaceful now.

Too peaceful.

Lin Jie stepped outside and stretched his sore shoulders.

The mountains before him were unbelievably beautiful.

White mist flowed between towering cliffs while rivers glittered under the morning sun. Birds with long silver tails flew across the distant sky, their cries echoing softly through the valley.

For a few seconds, Lin Jie forgot his situation entirely.

Then his stomach growled loudly.

“…First problem,” he muttered.

Food.

He still had no idea where he was, then surviving alone in the mountains would not be easy.

Lin Jie looked back at the hut.

The roof still leaned dangerously to one side. Several wooden supports were cracked, and part of the wall looked Back on Earth, he had always enjoyed fixing things. While other people spent weekends partying, Lin Jie preferred quietly repairing old electronics or building small shelves for his apartment.

Working with his hands calmed him.

That habit now became unexpectedly useful.

He rolled up his sleeves and walked into the forest.

The bamboo nearby was surprisingly sturdy. Using a rusty hatchet he found inside the hut, he began cutting several long poles.

After nearly an hour, sweat covered his forehead.

“Not bad…”

He carried the bamboo back toward the cabin.

Unknown to Lin Jie, countless eyes watched him from deep within the forest.

Several spirit beasts hid silently behind distant trees.

None dared approach.

Not because Lin Jie looked powerful.

But because the spiritual energy surrounding him felt utterly unnatural.

It was calm.

Perfectly calm.

In a cultivation world filled with chaotic spiritual fluctuations, Lin Jie’s existence resembled a silent abyss where all energy became still.

Even the wind unconsciously avoided disturbing him.

Meanwhile, inside the hidden system space, the Infinite Ascension System continued observing in disbelief.

[Host currently reinforcing support structures.]

[Analyzing movement patterns…]

[Error.]

[Structural alignment perfectly matches Heavenly Stabilization Principles.]

[Probability impossible.]

The system fell silent again.

It could not understand.

No mortal should possess such terrifying instinctive balance. Outside the hut, Lin Jie carefully positioned the bamboo supports beneath the damaged roof.

“Hm… if I move this angle slightly…”

He adjusted the beam.

The instant the structure locked into place—

BOOM.

A wave of invisible energy spread throughout Qinghe Valley.

High above the mountains, dark clouds suddenly split apart.

Ancient runes buried beneath the valley glowed faintly.

Rivers calmed.

Violent spiritual winds disappeared instantly.

Dozens of kilometers away, three rogue cultivators stopped walking simultaneously.

One of them stared toward the distant mountain with pale eyes.

“That aura…”

Another swallowed nervously.

“A grand formation activated.”

“But Qinghe Valley has been dead land for centuries.”

The eldest cultivator narrowed his eyes.

“No. Someone activated it.”

Back at the hut, Lin Jie blinked in confusion.

A strange pressure had passed through the valley for a brief second.

Then everything returned to normal.

“…Weird weather.”

He shrugged and continued working.

By afternoon, the hut looked far better than before.

The roof no longer leaked.

The walls stood straight.

Even the broken table inside had been repaired.

Lin Jie sat down heavily outside the cabin entrance. “Tiring…”

He wiped sweat from his forehead before looking around proudly.

Honestly, the place looked cozy now.

Simple.

Quiet.

Peaceful.

A cool breeze drifted through the bamboo forest.

Then Lin Jie noticed something strange.

Flowers had bloomed near the hut.

Yesterday, the ground there had been completely empty.

Now dozens of pale blue flowers swayed gently beside the pathway.

“…Did I seriously miss those before?”

He crouched down curiously.

The flowers emitted a faint glow under sunlight.

Beautiful.

Lin Jie smiled slightly.

“This area has strange flower but beautiful.”

" if I recall carefully, yesterday i saw a bunch of glowing flower too!"

"Magic or cultivation?" mutter to himself

Far beneath the earth, ancient formations continued humming softly.

The spiritual energy across the valley had become increasingly stable after Lin Jie repaired the hut.

Nearby medicinal herbs rapidly evolved.

Poisonous mist disappeared.

Even corrupted beasts hidden within the mountains gradually calmed.

Inside a distant cave, a giant black wolf slowly opened its eyes.

It sniffed the air once.

Then immediately lowered its head again in instinctive submission.

Something terrifying had entered the valley.

Something ancient.

Something beyond understanding.

Back outside the hut, Lin Jie remained blissfully unaware.

He simply gathered several stones and began improving the old stove.

“If I can make this more efficient, cooking will be easier…”

Using basic airflow principles, he rebuilt the damaged furnace opening.

The moment he lit the fire—

The flames burned perfectly clear blue.

Within the system space:

[Host has unconsciously created a high-efficiency spirit furnace.]

[This should not be possible.]

The system felt increasingly frightened.

At sunset, warm orange light covered Qinghe Valley.

Lin Jie sat outside the hut holding a wooden cup filled with boiled river water.

The valley looked peaceful beneath the fading sunlight.

For the first time since arriving in this strange world, he finally relaxed slightly.

“…Could be worse.”

He leaned back against the wall quietly.

Maybe surviving here was possible after all.

Far above the clouds, hidden within the sky itself, several ancient cultivators silently stared toward Qinghe Valley.

One spoke in a trembling voice.

“Who activated the valley formation?”

Another answered slowly.

“I don’t know.”

“But whatever descended there…”

His expression darkened.

“…must never be offended.”
