Episode 1 — Wedding Funeral

The rain that night felt cursed.

Heavy drops slammed against the cathedral windows while hundreds of wealthy guests filled the hall with fake smiles and expensive perfume. Crystal chandeliers sparkled above them, illuminating the perfect wedding everyone in the city had been waiting for.

The marriage of Seraphina Vale and Adrian Cross.

The golden couple.

The future king and queen of the business world.

At least… that was what Seraphina believed.

She stood in front of the mirror inside the bridal room, staring at herself in silence. Her white gown hugged her figure elegantly, soft diamonds shining around her neck. Her makeup was flawless. Her dark hair rested perfectly against her shoulders.

Yet something felt wrong.

Too quiet.

Too cold.

A strange feeling settled inside her chest.

“You look nervous.”

Vivienne walked inside with a bright smile, holding a bouquet of white roses.

Seraphina forced a laugh.

“Is it obvious?”

“A little.” Vivienne adjusted Seraphina’s veil gently. “But relax. Adrian loves you.”

The words should’ve comforted her.

Instead, they sounded rehearsed.

Seraphina looked at her best friend carefully.

Vivienne avoided eye contact for one second too long.

A tiny crack formed in Seraphina’s chest.

But before she could think further, the wedding coordinator entered hurriedly.

“It’s time.”

The music began.

The cathedral doors slowly opened.

Every guest turned toward her.

Seraphina stepped forward, her heels echoing softly against the marble floor. Cameras flashed everywhere. Journalists whispered excitedly.

She searched for Adrian at the altar.

But the moment she saw his face—

Her heart sank.

No smile.

No warmth.

Nothing.

He looked at her the way strangers look at paintings.

Beautiful.

But emotionless.

Her father, Alexander Vale, gently squeezed her hand as they walked together.

“You okay?” he whispered.

Seraphina nodded softly.

“Just nervous.”

But she wasn’t nervous anymore.

She was afraid.

When they finally reached the altar, Adrian barely looked at her.

The priest smiled warmly.

“We are gathered here today to celebrate the union between—”

“Stop.”

The entire cathedral froze.

Seraphina blinked slowly.

“What?”

Adrian stepped back from her.

His expression remained calm.

Cold.

Then suddenly—

Vivienne walked toward the altar.

Wearing white heels.

White earrings.

White gloves.

The same color as a bride.

Murmurs exploded around the cathedral.

Seraphina stared at her best friend in confusion.

“Vivienne…?”

Vivienne couldn’t even look her in the eye.

Adrian finally spoke.

“I can’t marry you.”

Silence.

Pure silence.

The kind that suffocates people.

Seraphina laughed weakly.

“What kind of joke is this?”

But nobody laughed.

Adrian reached for Vivienne’s hand.

“I’m in love with her.”

The world stopped.

Some guests gasped.

Others immediately grabbed their phones.

Cameras flashed wildly.

Seraphina felt heat rush through her body as if the entire cathedral was burning.

“No…” she whispered.

Vivienne finally looked at her with guilty eyes.

“I’m sorry…”

Sorry.

That single word destroyed years of friendship in seconds.

Seraphina turned toward Adrian slowly.

“You cheated on me… with my best friend?”

Adrian sighed impatiently, almost annoyed she asked.

“It wasn’t intentional at first.”

The humiliation sliced deeper.

Her hands trembled violently.

“Then what was I to you?”

Adrian stared directly into her eyes.

“A business arrangement.”

The guests whispered louder.

Someone even laughed quietly.

Seraphina’s breathing became uneven.

Her father suddenly stepped forward furiously.

“You ungrateful bastard!” Alexander shouted. “Everything you have came from my family!”

Adrian’s face darkened.

“And your company is collapsing anyway.”

Alexander froze.

“What?”

Adrian smirked slightly.

“The investors already left you.”

Seraphina slowly looked at her father.

His face had gone pale.

“No…” she whispered. “Dad?”

But before Alexander could speak—

He collapsed.

“DAD!”

The cathedral erupted into chaos.

People screamed.

The priest rushed forward.

Seraphina dropped to the floor beside her father, tears streaming down her face.

“Dad! Dad wake up!”

But Alexander wasn’t moving.

Paramedics arrived minutes later.

The wedding turned into a disaster.

Guests began leaving.

Some looked sympathetic.

Others looked entertained.

As if her entire life was some kind of television drama.

And Adrian?

He simply stood there beside Vivienne.

Watching.

Emotionless.

Seraphina stood slowly, her mascara ruined by tears.

She walked toward Adrian shakily.

Then slapped him across the face.

The sound echoed loudly.

“You destroyed my family.”

Adrian looked back at her calmly.

“No, Seraphina.” He adjusted his suit. “Weak people destroy themselves.”

Then he walked away.

With Vivienne beside him.

Leaving Seraphina alone in the middle of the cathedral.

Still wearing her wedding dress.

Still bleeding emotionally in front of everyone.

That night became the biggest scandal in the city.

But the nightmare wasn’t over.

Not even close.

———

11:47 PM

Rain poured heavily outside the hospital.

Seraphina sat beside her unconscious father silently.

Doctors had already warned her.

Stress triggered his heart attack.

His condition was critical.

Everything felt unreal.

Her wedding destroyed.

Her company collapsing.

Her best friend betraying her.

Her fiancé humiliating her publicly.

It all happened too fast.

A nurse suddenly entered the room.

“Miss Vale…”

Seraphina looked up weakly.

“There’s a fire.”

Her stomach dropped.

“What?”

“The Vale Corporation building is burning.”

For a moment, she forgot how to breathe.

“No…”

She immediately rushed outside into the storm.

By the time she arrived downtown, flames had already swallowed the skyscraper.

People crowded the streets.

Firetrucks screamed through the city.

Smoke filled the sky.

Seraphina stared at the burning building in horror.

Her father’s company.

Her family legacy.

Gone.

Then her phone rang.

Unknown number.

With shaking hands, she answered.

“…Hello?”

A deep male voice spoke calmly.

“Beautiful chaos.”

Seraphina frowned.

“Who is this?”

“I watched your wedding.”

Her expression hardened immediately.

“If this is some sick joke—”

“You want revenge, don’t you?”

Silence.

The stranger continued.

“I can help you.”

“And why would you do that?”

A pause.

Then:

“Because Adrian Cross is my enemy too.”

The line disconnected.

Moments later, a black luxury car stopped beside her.

A man stepped out holding an umbrella.

Tall.

Sharp jawline.

Black suit.

Cold eyes.

Dangerous.

He walked toward her slowly while the fire reflected behind him like hell itself followed him.

“Seraphina Vale,” he said calmly.

She stared at him cautiously.

“Who are you?”

The man handed her a black envelope.

“Damian De Luca.”

The name alone made her blood run cold.

Everyone knew the De Luca family.

Mafia.

Powerful.

Untouchable.

Feared.

Seraphina slowly opened the envelope.

Inside was a marriage contract.

At the bottom was Damian’s signature.

Then she saw the sentence beneath it.

> “Marry me… and I’ll help you destroy everyone who betrayed you.”

Thunder crashed across the sky.

Seraphina looked up at him.

Damian’s dark eyes remained unreadable.

But one thing was certain.

This man wasn’t offering salvation.

He was offering war.
