Chapter 2

...Chia’s POV...

I started taking a shower to get ready for school. I didn’t need to worry about being late since the school was only half a mile away from my house. I lived on Dale Street.

I already had a lot of neighbors around me, but I still chose to isolate myself because of the nightmares that had haunted me for the past five years.

After finishing my shower, I stepped out of the bathtub, grabbed my robe, and walked toward my room to change into my uniform.

KESS University Academia had a pink-and-purple themed uniform, which was one of the reasons students loved wearing it. After changing, I tied my hair into messy buns and decided to eat breakfast outside near the school.

Before leaving the house, I made sure everything was locked before starting my walk to school.

I wasn’t like the other rich kids who used their cars even when the school was only a short distance from their homes.

Honestly, mas gusto ko pang maglakad kaysa sumakay sa kotse. I hated the suffocating smell inside expensive cars anyway.

Later, Inside the Classroom

I sat down in my usual seat at the third row beside the window. I liked staying there because I could look outside while studying.

My AirPods were in my ears while soft music played in the background. But the sound of heels clicking against the classroom tiles caught my attention.

That was enough for me to remove one of my AirPods.

When I looked up, I saw three unfamiliar faces standing in front of the class.

“We have three new students today. Please introduce yourselves,” Professor Nero said while looking at the three people beside her.

I blinked slowly and leaned against my desk, waiting for their introductions.

“I’m Sivesco Monroe, but you can call me Sige for short.”

The first girl wore a pink gothic-style mini dress. Weirdly enough, it looked cute on her.

“I’m Eranthe Kaliea Vexia Sinclair. But you can call me Kitana for short. Yeah, I know—it sounds like the sword. My parents are obsessed with weapons, so blame them.”

The second girl wore casual but cool-looking clothes while holding a thick book against her chest like she was completely obsessed with reading.

Then the last girl stood up.

The moment her eyes swept across the room, everyone went silent.

“Soravia Yvonne Athanasia Hawthorne - Salvatore,” she introduced coldly. “But you can call me Synth.”

Her voice was calm yet intimidating enough to make the entire class nervous.

Interesting.

But no.

Friends still weren’t part of my vocabulary.
