CHAINS OF DARKNESS

Rain poured heavily over the small village of Ashara.

Thunder shook the sky as 16-year-old Rin Kael carried firewood through the muddy streets. The villagers moved away whenever he passed. Some whispered under their breath while others stared at him with fear.

“That cursed boy…”

Rin pretended not to hear them.

Ever since his father disappeared five years ago, strange things had happened around him. Mirrors cracked when he got angry. Animals refused to go near him. And every night, he heard the sound of heavy chains dragging through darkness in his dreams.

In this world, warriors used a mysterious energy called Chain Force. It allowed fighters to create glowing chains around their bodies and weapons. Strong emotions strengthened the power. Anger created destructive attacks, while calmness improved defense and control.

But beyond Chain Force existed something far more dangerous.

The power of the Dragon Souls.

Ancient legends claimed dragons once ruled the earth before humanity sealed them away using the Seven Dragon Seals. Their souls were imprisoned forever… or so people believed.

Only a few humans could survive bonding with a dragon soul.

Those people were feared as Dragon Hosts.

That night, Rin finished delivering firewood to the village shop when the warning bell suddenly rang across Ashara.

DONG! DONG! DONG!

The peaceful village instantly fell into panic.

“Bandits are here!”

Men dressed in black armor stormed through the streets with chained weapons glowing red from Chain Force. Flaming arrows shot across the sky as houses burst into flames.

Screams filled the village.

Rin ran toward the chaos and spotted a little girl trapped beneath broken wood near a burning house.

“Don’t move!” he shouted.

Ignoring the flames, Rin pulled the heavy wood away and grabbed her hand. Before he could escape, a powerful force slammed him into the ground.

A tall armored soldier stood over him.

The man’s eyes focused on the strange necklace around Rin’s neck — a black dragon wrapped in chains.

The soldier froze.

“After all these years… we finally found him.”

Rin stared in confusion.

“What are you talking about?”

The soldier slowly pulled out a massive chained sword glowing with dark red energy.

“By order of the Black Fang Order… eliminate the Dragon Vessel.”

Rin’s eyes widened.

The sword came crashing down—

BOOOOOOOM!!!

A violent explosion of black energy erupted from Rin’s body.

Dark chains burst from the ground and destroyed the street around him. The soldiers stumbled backward in fear.

“Impossible…!”

Rin clutched his chest as his necklace glowed brightly. The air suddenly became cold and silent.

Everything around him froze.

Then a deep voice echoed inside his mind.

“You finally awakened me…”

Rin looked around in terror.

“Who are you?!”

The darkness behind him slowly opened like a giant gate.

Two enormous glowing eyes appeared.

Massive chains stretched endlessly across the sky.

Then a gigantic black dragon emerged from the shadows. Its body was covered in broken seals and ancient chains.

“I am Zephryx…”

The dragon lowered its head and smiled.

“The Chained Dragon.”

Dark markings spread across Rin’s arm like scales as overwhelming power flooded his body.

The First Dragon Seal had begun to break.

The ground cracked beneath his feet.

The soldiers panicked.

“He’s awakening! Run!”

Zephryx’s voice echoed once more.

“Tell me, Rin Kael…”

The dragon’s crimson eyes glowed brightly in the darkness.

“Shall we destroy them all?”

Rin slowly raised his head.

His eyes now burned with a dark crimson light.
