Episode 4 - Back to that night
It happened around a month and a half ago, Lysander was going back home from his work place as usual.
His phone rang, he let it ring, didn't want to look at it, his day was exhausting and he didn't want to know any good or bad news, because he usually got the bad ones.
His thoughts slid towards his dad though, maybe something went wrong and the hospital was calling him, he had to take a look and pick up the call.
"Lysander Rosewood, speaking." he said as he took the call and put the phone near his ear.
The woman's voice echoes through the device. It was his old friend he hadn't met in years.
On the other side, he could hear more than just one voice, it was probably two or three, some background noise as well.
"Hi, Lysander, this is Ellen, you remember me?"
Ellen, the one from college, it hasn't even been a year since he last saw her, she was his classmate. But he has to say his goodbyes, when money grew tight and his father was admitted to the hospital.
He said it was family reasons for dropping out, he wasn't wrong or lying. He just hadn't had the money to support both, his profession and his father, who matter more to him at the moment.
"I remember you, is there something you need?" Lysander asked carefully, his voice never changed tone.
"You see, I have a party today, I successfully passed all my exams, and I thought of you, you know...ehm..." she stopped herself for a moment, clearly searching for words. "I just thought we could meet again, if you wanted to come, all the drinks and food are on me, I just..."
"I get what you mean." Lysander sighed, he didn't know if he wanted to come, he knew Ellen knew about his situation.
"Who else will be there?" he asked at last.
"Oh, just some classmates I know, and a few people you yourself know as well." her voice became cheerful, Lysander could imagine her eyes lit up and her cheeks puffed up as they always did, when she was excited.
"Where is the party at?" Lysander stopped already, he actually wanted to clear his kind a bit form the bad day he had just suffered through.
"Wait a minute, I'll tell you the address, it's ***** on **** Street."
An expensive bar, as expected from a young girl, that came from a wealthy family, but she never acted like it.
That's why Lysander actually liked her a little bit, she was also an omega, just like him, so he felt more comfortable around her than with others.
"Okay, that's not too far, I'll be there soon, thanks for calling, I mean it." Lysander's tone changed, it was livelier.
Ellen sounded pleased, she probably nodded on the other side of the phone and squealed in happiness.
"I'm so glad, you'll come." she said as she hung up the call.
