His Forbidden Obsession
The Valentino Hotel glittered with wealth, power, and secrets.
Elena Rossi stood awkwardly near the entrance, adjusting the sleeves of her black dress as people around her laughed and drank expensive champagne.
She didn’t belong here.
“Relax,” her best friend Mia whispered. “It’s just a party.”
Easy for her to say.
Everyone in this ballroom looked rich enough to buy the entire city.
Elena grabbed a drink nervously, ready to survive one hour before leaving forever.
The grand chandelier above reflected golden lights across the ballroom while soft music played in the background. Women in designer gowns laughed elegantly while businessmen discussed money and power.
Elena already hated it.
“I swear if someone spills wine on me, I’m leaving,” she muttered.
Mia laughed softly. “You complain too much.”
Before Elena could answer, the atmosphere suddenly changed.
The music stopped.
The entire ballroom fell silent.
Even the air felt heavier.
People quickly stepped aside as the giant doors slowly opened.
Several men in black suits entered first, their sharp eyes scanning every corner carefully.
And then—
he walked in.
Damien Moretti.
The most feared mafia heir in the city.
Tall.
Cold.
Untouchable.
His black suit fit perfectly against his broad shoulders, and his dark expression made him look even more dangerous.
The moment he entered, fear spread across the room instantly.
Nobody dared to speak.
Nobody dared to breathe.
Elena frowned slightly. “Who does he think he is?”
Mia nearly choked on her drink. “Elena, shut up! That’s Damien Moretti.”
“The mafia heir?” Elena whispered.
Mia nodded nervously. “People say he controls half the city.”
Elena rolled her eyes slightly. “He just looks arrogant.”
But when she looked back toward him—
she froze.
Damien was already staring directly at her.
Not at anyone else.
Her.
A strange tension filled the air as his dark eyes locked onto hers.
Elena quickly looked away, suddenly nervous for no reason.
Then slowly…
Damien began walking toward her.
Step.
Step.
Step.
Every step made Elena’s heartbeat pound harder.
Finally, he stopped inches away from her.
“You’re new,” he said calmly.
His voice was deep and dangerous.
Elena crossed her arms nervously. “And you’re staring.”
One of his guards looked horrified by her attitude.
But Damien smirked slightly.
Interesting.
Most people feared him instantly.
This girl challenged him.
“What’s your name?” he asked.
“Elena.”
“Pretty name.”
Elena looked away quickly, annoyed by how calm he sounded.
“You say that to every girl?”
Damien’s smirk widened slightly. “Only the brave ones.”
Before she could respond—
BANG!
Gunshots exploded outside the hotel.
Women screamed.
Glass shattered across the ballroom.
People dropped to the floor in panic.
Elena gasped as Damien instantly pulled her against his chest protectively.
“Stay close to me,” he ordered coldly.
More gunshots echoed outside while his guards pulled out weapons immediately.
Elena’s hands trembled as Damien kept one arm tightly around her waist.
“What’s happening?” she whispered fearfully.
Damien’s expression darkened dangerously.
“Someone made a very stupid mistake tonight.”
And for the first time in her life—
Elena realized monsters didn’t hide in nightmares.
Sometimes…
they wore expensive suits and smelled like danger.
