The classroom door opened and their teacher walked inside, the class immediately stood up and went back to their own seats and greeted the teacher.

“Good morning everyone, okay so I’ve got some news to share with you all about the summer camp” Ms Savanna said.

Everyone looked at her.

“So, this year Principal Paul decided to not let you guys choose your own roommates”

The class groaned immediately, and spoke up

“That’s not fair!”

“Come on! What’s the fun then?”

“Don’t do this..Tell me it’s a joke!”

The teacher held her hand in the air, “okay, calm down everyone, it’s not that bad..you guys can make new friends and enjoy the camp more”

The students protest again, Theo raised his hand up. The entire class, including Jin looked at him

“And what if anyone refuse?”

Ms Savana sighed, “If you’re referring to yourself then, you won’t get any bonus and perhaps get punishment that will make your remarks ugly”

Jin raised his hand next, “Can we atleast chose which person we don’t want to pair up with?”

Theo snapped his head to Jin, he knew Jin was talking about him, the class was enjoying the drama. Ms Savana sighed again

“Well, unfortunately no, the pair up will be done by the principal at the end of the class”

The class whispered and started murmuring back again and Ms Savana dropped her books on the desk loudly, “No more questions. Turn to page 457”

She went to give her lecture to the class, Oliver looked at Theo, “The universe hates you”

Theo ignored him, already pissed about everything. What does he mean by “can we chose the person we don’t want to pair up with?”

Like He wants to share a room with him and see him 24/7 for the whole summer camp. That would be so ridiculous.

Jin tapped his pen on the table, he can pair up with anyone, even the stinkiest football player but not Theo. He wasn’t ready to be placed in the same room as him and see him all day. That would be bad, worse even.

Jin shook his head slightly, maybe he was overthinking? What’s the chances anyway? There were like hundreds of students in the school, the chances of being paired up with Theo was low.

And he didn’t want to go to the camp in the first place, but his father forced him saying all his friend’s children will also be there and he don’t want Jin to be a disappointment again like he already is. He also said if Jin lose any activities in the camp..he don’t need to return home. Because Richard Ashworth don’t have a pathetic loser as his son.

“Hey, Jin wanna hang out in the arcade later tonight?” Ian,A friend of Jin from chess club said

Jin was pulled from his thought by Ian’s voice, “What?”

“Arcade? I heard it’s Sammy’s birthday today, you’re coming right?”

“I want to but I have other works to handle, wish Sammy for me okay?”

Ian tsk, “Come on, it’s the fourth time you said you can’t join your friends”

“I’ll treat you guys to lunch later to make up for it?”

Ian nodded, “Anyways, you’re coming to the camp right?”

“Right. Won’t miss it, I was waiting for it for months” Lie

Ian patted Jin on his back, “We’re gonna have so much fun!”

Jin gave a tiny smile and nodded. Everyone saw the smiles he make, but no one noticed the

anxiousness in his voice because he practiced to hide it for the past 19 years of his life.
