V suddenly found himself asking a question.

"What time do you close?"

Riya looked surprised.

"Nine o'clock."

V nodded.

Then he walked toward the exit.

For some reason, he didn't want to leave.

But staying longer might attract attention.

And attention was dangerous.

"Boss."

V's expression instantly became cold again.

"What?"

"We have a problem."

"What happened?"

V sighed.

Reality had returned.

The peaceful moment was over.

"Handle the survivors."

"Yes, Boss."

The guard hesitated.

"Should we prepare for retaliation?"

V looked back through the bookstore window.

Riya was arranging books while softly humming to herself.

Completely unaware of the dangerous world surrounding her.

His eyes softened for a brief second.

Then the King of Shadows returned.

"Prepare everyone."

The guard nodded immediately.

"We move tonight."

Inside the bookstore, Riya watched V's car disappear into the distance.

She didn't know why.

But something about him felt different.
