University classes had finally ended, and students rushed out of their classrooms.
Among them, Tae quickly packed his bag, trying not to be late for his café shift.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the city, Jimin called Jungkook.
Inside a quiet glass-walled office, Jungkook sat alone, reviewing important documents.
Though he wasn't officially the CEO yet, the company already followed his decisions.
In just a few days, he would be announced as the company's new CEO.
His phone vibrated.
Jimin calling...
Jungkook glanced at the screen, then picked up the call without hesitation.
"Jimin."
Before he could even finish, Jimin's voice exploded through the speaker.
"Jungkook! Are you avoiding me or are you just professionally ignoring me now?"
Jungkook leaned back in his chair, amused.
"I was working."
"Working, working, working," Jimin mocked. "Do you even know other words or is your brain just permanently set on 'CEO mode'?"
Jungkook chuckled softly.
"And you're permanently set on 'drama mode'."
"Excuse me?" Jimin gasped. "I am very calm and emotionally stable."
A beat.
Jungkook raised a brow. "Sure."
"Don't 'sure' me like that!" Jimin snapped, then added quickly, "Anyway—listen."
I needed a favor," Jimin finally said.
Ohh," Jungkook replied, slightly amused. "So that's why. I thought you were calling just to check if I'm alive."
Jimin huffed.
"What do you think? I've got nothing better to do than call you every minute? Do you think you're some kind of prince I need to constantly remember?"
But the truth was far from his words.
Jimin missed him.
A lot more than he would ever admit.
For a moment, he got lost in his own thoughts.
If we were boyfriend... this conversation would be completely different...
"Jimin?"
Jungkook's voice pulled him back to reality.
"Yeah, yeah... I'm listening," Jimin replied quickly.
"I lost my bracelet at Tae's café," Jimin said. "It's not far from your office. Can you send someone from your staff to pick it up?"
Jungkook blinked once.
"...You called me like I'm a delivery service?"
"Wow," Jimin said instantly. "So now you're too important for small tasks?"
Jungkook smirked. "I am important."
"Not to me," Jimin shot back without thinking.
Silence.
"So... a bracelet. That's your emergency call?"
Jimin immediately got defensive.
"Excuse me? That's not 'just a bracelet'."
"Oh?"
"It's my birthday gift," Jimin said, voice suddenly serious... but still slightly annoyed. "The one YOU gave me."
That made Jungkook pause.
Jimin huffed loudly on the other side.
"Just listen properly. Tae is busy, and I don't want him running around looking for it. So send someone from your fancy office, okay?"
Jungkook tilted his chair slightly, pretending to think.
"Hm... what do I get in return?"
Jimin gasped. "You're bargaining with me now?"
"CEO training," Jungkook said casually.
"You're impossible," Jimin muttered.
A pause.
Then Jimin added, softer but still teasing—
"...Fine. I'll think about forgiving you for ignoring me this morning."
Jungkook smiled faintly. "How generous."
"Shut up."
"Okay, I'll send someone," he said finally.
Jimin's tone immediately shifted back to satisfied.
"Good. That's why you're useful."
Jungkook scoffed. "Useful?"
"Very useful," Jimin repeated. "Don't get emotional."
Jungkook shook his head, amused. "You're unbelievable."
"I know."
A short silence passed—comfortable this time.
Because this... was normal for them.
Teasing. Fighting. Laughing.
After ending the call, Jungkook returned to his work.
At least... he tried to.
His eyes stayed on the documents, but his mind was somewhere else.
Without warning, yesterday evening replayed in his head.
A voice.
That deep, calm voice.
Just remembering it made him pause.
His fingers stopped moving.
His heartbeat felt strangely louder.
Jungkook frowned.
Why was he thinking about it again?
Why couldn't he forget something so simple?
He didn't know.
But one thing was certain—
He wanted to hear that voice again.
And this time...
he wanted to see the person behind it.
Please do share your thoughts with me—I'd really love to know what you think.💜
