Episode 4: The Library Meeting

"Sometimes fate doesn't bring two people together only once. It keeps creating reasons for them to meet."

After their first real conversation, Riya couldn't stop smiling.

For days, she had wondered about the mysterious stranger who had helped her on the street.

Now she finally knew his name.

Arjun.

And somehow, knowing his name only made her want to know more about him.

The next morning, Riya found herself thinking about him before she had even arrived at college.

She tried convincing herself that it wasn't a big deal.

But deep down, she knew she was excited.

Maybe she would see him again.

Maybe she wouldn't.

The uncertainty made her heart race.

After classes ended, Riya headed toward the library.

The library had always been her favorite place on campus.

It was quiet, peaceful, and filled with endless stories waiting to be discovered.

Little did she know that another story was about to begin there.

As she entered, she noticed the usual rows of books and students buried in their studies.

Everything seemed normal.

Until she spotted someone sitting near the window.

Her heart instantly recognized him before her mind did.

Arjun.

He was reading a book, completely focused.

The sunlight streaming through the window illuminated his face.

For a moment, Riya simply stood there watching him.

There was something calming about his presence.

Something that made her feel comfortable.

Just then, Arjun looked up.

Their eyes met.

A smile immediately appeared on his face.

"Looks like we meet again."

Riya laughed softly.

"Looks like fate is working overtime."

Arjun chuckled.

"Maybe it is."

She took a seat across from him.

For a few moments, neither of them spoke.

Yet the silence didn't feel awkward.

It felt natural.

Comfortable.

As if they were slowly becoming friends.

"What are you reading?" Riya asked.

Arjun held up the book.

"A mystery novel."

"Do you always read mystery books?"

"Mostly. I like figuring things out before the ending."

Riya smiled.

"I always read romance novels."

"Really?"

"Yes."

Arjun grinned.

"So you're the type who likes happy endings."

"And you're the type who likes surprises."

"Exactly."

Both laughed.

The conversation flowed effortlessly.

One topic led to another.

Books became movies.

Movies became favorite songs.

Songs became childhood memories.

Before either of them realized it, nearly two hours had passed.

For the first time in a long time, Riya forgot to check her phone.

Forgot about assignments.

Forgot about everything except the conversation.

She was enjoying every second.

As they talked, she learned more about Arjun.

He loved photography.

He enjoyed long walks when he needed to clear his mind.

He dreamed of traveling the world one day.

And most importantly, he was kind.

Genuinely kind.

Not because he wanted something in return.

But because that was simply who he was.

The more she learned about him, the more she understood why she couldn't forget him.

Suddenly, Arjun looked at his watch.

"Oh no."

"What happened?"

"I promised my friend I'd meet him twenty minutes ago."

Riya laughed.

"I guess time flies when you're having fun."

"It really does."

For a brief moment, neither of them moved.

Almost as if neither wanted the conversation to end.

Then Arjun stood up.

"I should go."

Riya nodded.

"Yeah."

Before leaving, he reached into his notebook and tore out a small piece of paper.

He quickly wrote something on it.

Then handed it to her.

Riya looked down.

It was his phone number.

Her heart skipped a beat.

"In case fate gets tired of helping us meet," Arjun said with a smile.

Riya couldn't stop smiling.

"I'll keep that in mind."

Arjun walked toward the exit.

Just before leaving, he turned back.

"See you soon, Riya."

"See you soon, Arjun."

As the library door closed behind him, Riya looked down at the piece of paper in her hand.

A simple phone number.

Yet somehow it felt like the beginning of something much bigger.

For the first time, she wasn't wondering whether she would see him again.

She knew she would.

And that thought made her happier than she wanted to admit.

Outside, the evening sun painted the sky in shades of orange and pink.

Inside the library, Riya smiled to herself.

Because fate had given her another chapter.

And this story was only getting started.
