Going Home

Episode 5: Going Home

Ariana's POV

The next morning, I woke up with a smile on my face.

For the first time in months, I didn't hate waking up early.

Why?

Because I was finally going home.

I sat up on my bed and said

"Today's a beautiful day."

A few seconds later, my bedroom door opened.

Eva looked at me suspiciously and said

"Why are you smiling?"

I grinned and said

"Because life is amazing."

Eva narrowed her eyes and said

"That's suspicious."

I laughed and said

"You're suspicious."

Eva crossed her arms and said

"You're definitely hiding something."

I dramatically placed a hand on my chest and said

"You wound me."

Eva rolled her eyes and said

"Tell me before I throw a pillow at you."

I happily stood up and said

"I'm going home soon."

For a second, Eva froze.

Eva blinked and said

"Wait... really?"

I nodded and said

"Really."

Eva smiled and said

"That's great."

I hugged her and said

"I know."

Even though she was happy for me, I could tell she would miss me.

Honestly?

I would miss her too.

We had spent years together in Paris.

She wasn't just my best friend anymore.

She was family.

The thought of leaving suddenly made me a little emotional.

Eva lightly hit my shoulder and said

"Don't start crying."

I immediately pulled away and said

"Who said I was crying?"

Eva smirked and said

"Your face."

I pointed at her and said

"You're rude."

Eva laughed and said

"And you're dramatic."

The rest of the morning passed with us joking around.

Later, we went out for lunch together.

As we walked through the streets of Paris, I couldn't stop looking around.

This city had given me so many memories.

My training.

My studies.

My friendship with Eva.

A small part of me would always love this place.

Eva looked at me and said

"What are you thinking about?"

I smiled softly and said

"Nothing."

Eva raised an eyebrow and said

"That's a lie."

I laughed and said

"Maybe."

After lunch, we returned to the apartment.

I had barely stepped inside when my phone rang.

Brother.

A smile immediately appeared on my face.

I answered the call and said

"Hello, Brother."

Reyan chuckled and said

"Good mood?"

I sat on the sofa and said

"I'm coming home."

Reyan smiled and said

"I know."

I grinned and said

"Are you excited to see your favorite sister?"

Reyan calmly replied and said

"You're my only sister."

I gasped and said

"So you're saying I'm not your favorite?"

Reyan laughed and said

"You're impossible."

I proudly said

"Thank you."

Reyan sighed and said

"That wasn't a compliment."

A comfortable silence followed.

Then his voice softened.

Reyan smiled and said

"Everyone misses you, Ariana."

My heart warmed immediately.

Home.

I was finally going home.

What I didn't know was that my return would bring unexpected changes.

New people.

New experiences.

And a future I never saw coming.

Somewhere in the same country...

A man named Adrian Milton continued living his life completely unaware of the storm that was about to enter it.

To be continued...
