Kiss Interrogation (,,•᷄‎ࡇ•᷅ ,,)?

**Cornelia POV**

"I can't believe what happened," I said.

"Cornelia, look at me what happened?" Emily asked, taking a sip from her drink.

I groaned, ignoring her question. This was so annoying.

I'm already at school and I still can't stop thinking about what happened at home between me and Andrew. Why did I have to slip, I thought, taking a sip from my milkshake my one source of comfort in this nightmare.

We kept walking down the hallway.

"Cornelia," she called, stopping in her tracks, making me turn to face her.

"What??" I asked.

"What's bothering you?" she asked. "You've been acting weird."

"Really? Weird?" I asked.

"Yup," she nodded. "You've been sighing and groaning nonstop."

"What's bugging you?" she said.

I sighed again. "Okay," I started.

And I told her everything.

And the only word that managed to escape my mouth at the end of it all was: sexy.

"Was he that sexy?" she asked.

"Emily, that's not important right now."

"I just embarrassed myself in front of him that dick."

"Sorry, Cornelia, but I wouldn't think about it that much."

"Why?" I asked her.

"Because you guys didn't do anything silly," she said, taking a sip of her drink, completely missing the point.

"You're right, he didn't actually do anything silly like last time," I said out loud, without thinking.

"What happened last time?" she asked.

Oh fuck, did I just think out loud again. What's wrong with me nowadays, I thought. Then, realizing I had zero way out of this conversation, I had no choice but to tell her.

"He kissed you?" she said, surprised.

"Yup," I nodded.

"Wow, that's crazy," she said, smiling way too pleased with this information for my liking.

"There's nothing to smile about, Emily."

"Because that dick stole my first kiss, and I'm still mad about it."

"Oh, that's tiring" she said, like my trauma was a rerun she'd already seen.

"You haven't kissed anyone or even dated in high school, and you're still like this now," she said.

"Yup, thanks for reminding me, Emily," I said, taking a sip from my drink petty hydration, but hydration nonetheless.

"Sorry," she said.

"It's not that I didn't want to date, it's just that I never found interest in all that... lovey-dovey stuff," I said.

"And mostly because of how my parents were in the house. They weren't lovey-dovey more like abusive."

"They were always fighting, ending with one of them in the hospital or sometimes prison."

"I usually didn't stay home I'd stay with grandma, or sometimes with Emily. She was like my best friend."

"They got divorced when I was in middle school, I think... but I really don't care. I ended up staying with my grandma since neither of them wanted me. And that's how I see love, from my own point of view."

"Abusive, and a waste of time and the world's patience."

And before I knew it, Emily snapped me back, asking something that pulled me right out of my own pity party. "What was it like??" she asked in a low tone.

"What???" I asked.

"The kiss, silly considering it was your first," she said, poking my shoulder.

"Was it a French kiss or just a kiss?"

"A French... what?? I was lost — what does that even mean?" I asked.

"Cornelia, you can't tell me you don't know what that is," she said, staring at me like I'd just asked what oxygen was.

"A kiss is just a kiss," I said.

"Oh girl, you have a lot to learn," she said, putting a hand on my shoulder like a wise elder addressing a particularly clueless disciple.

"But was it romantic?" she asked.

"I can't really say romantic more like... inspected," I said.

"So... how was it?" she asked again.

"The details," she added, leaning in like this was breaking news.

"The kiss... was... likeeeeee—" I tried explaining, not realizing I was turning red as I kept talking.

"His lips were soft and warm," I said, the memory rushing back. "I could feel his breath brush against my skin, and it was heavy in a way I can't quite explain."

"And his tongue was doing all the work, and—"

Wait a minute, what am I saying, I stopped myself, mortified.

"Why'd you stop?" she asked, looking disappointed, like I'd just paused the best part of a movie.

I can't believe I'm describing that dick-head's kissing technique like it's a five-star review.

I groaned. "And it's all your fault, Emily," I said, walking ahead of her.

"Wait up, Cornellia!" she said, rushing after me, smiling like she hadn't just emotionally cornered me in a hallway.

This was so freaking crazy.
