Episode 4

In library

Our first meeting took place in the Library i arrived early and sat at the far corner of the library and James arrived 20 min late

"you're late" i said looking at him

"i wanted to make an entrance" he said dropping his backpack on the table

"you're making excuses instead " he said taking the drat beside me

" i brought coffee"

" i don't drink coffee"

"i know i was joking" he offered a big cold glass of strawberry smoothie as i tried to hold it, his fingers brushed against mine

"you always order this right" he smiled

"thanks i guess" i said, thinking about how he knows my favourite drink

"oh so that's what gratitude sounds like" he said taking out books from his backpack

"don't get used to it"

"ok so what are you planning?"

"just planning how to keep you away from actual responsibility" i said without looking up

"harsh" he said stealing my pen

"you-" i was going to yell then the librarian clear her throat to remind us we are not the only one in the library

we spent the next two hours arguing over details of the project, the topic research, presentation and at one point even the librarian walked over

"if you're going to fight, do it quietly" and all we can do apologise in unison, after she walked away we both laughed and looked at each other it was the first genuine laugh we had ever shared

The meeting finally ended i collected my things and James leaned on his chair smirking

"you know we actually make a solid team"

"that sentence had more delusion than confidence" i grabbed my bag and was halfway to the door when he called my name

"lily.... Don't forget tomorrow's meeting, same time" i didn't look back

"shouldn't I be the one to say this, don't be late"

"wouldn't dream of it" he said , clearly planning to be late

Later that evening, I lay on my bed reviewing my notes as my brain was working but it felt like somehow my sanity had stopped working, his ideas weren't totally trash, he actually made people listen to whatever he had to say....

"And I hate that he is good at this and I hate that i care about him" sighing !

Next day

Lily was already seated, reviewing her notes, James watched her for a moment before looking away as if he hadn't been staring at all.

She looked tired.

She stayed up studying again last night And then, a boy went and sat next to her and started talking to her; perhaps he was asking for her help and before he could say anything, the classroom door slid open.

The teacher entered the classroom..

"Students!" the teacher announced and students greeted the teacher and continued the lecture.....

"you've been staring at her for 20 minutes already" lucas whispered while writing

"I'm supervising"

"No, you're jealous"

James' grip on his pen tightened, Lily smiled politely as that boy was nonstop talking to her and whenever he looked up just in time to see Lily laughing, she laughed like that with him? The feeling surprised him. He had seen Lily smile countless times, Yet somehow... Seeing another boy become the reason for her smile it bothered him far more than he imagined.......૮₍˶╥﹏╥˶₎ა
