Break Time

I was sitting in my usual corner with my friends Zoe and Chris. Zoe was glued to her phone again and Chris doing his part of eating

"take it" he said giving me and Zoe a piece of chocolate

"you'll need sugar to survive your daily james exposure" i accepted it with an exhausting look in my eyes

"he is impossible, every time I say something he has to one up to it and that cocky grin i swear-"

"of course he does" Zoe said while eating chocolate

"that boy lives for drama but he is not as bad as you make him out to be"

"what? Are you on his side now?"

"relax we are on your side but admit it he does make things more Interesting " Zoe said, smiling

"interesting, isn't the word I use for him, it's more like infuriating" i said, sighing

James side

Meanwhile across the cafeteria James was holding his talk show on how to annoy Lily and get away with it , while his friends who weren't seem interested glued to their phone like they were allergic to human interactions

"i swear she stormed out like I had just insulted her in front of the entire school"

"what did you just say?" Lucas asked surprisingly

"you did said and then you were grinning like an idiot James" Alec said without looking up

"yeah you are not her competition anymore you are her full time side quest" Lucas said eating food from his plate

"that's good right i like the challenge and the fact that I'm her side quest-"

"You sure are head over heels for her, you still like her that much" Alec said while continuing playing his game....

"I don't like her that way, i only like to tease her-"

"that is what liking someone is my friend" Alec said finally looking up

"Oh isn't this the same boy who was sitting next to her in class?" Lucas said, offering me the water bottle

"who" Alec said, again playing his game as i couldn't help but staring

"You know staring at him won't make him disappear" Lucas said, crunching on chocolate

"I'm not staring, I'm observing" *literally glaring at him*

"And why are you even observing" Lucas asked but i didn't respond

My eyes didn't leave the table where Lily was laughing and that guy was trying his best to be funny and yet watching her smile with someone else stirred something in me....

James' grip tightened around the water bottle in his hand until it crumbled... The loud noise echoed through the cafeteria as Lily looked up immediately, their eyes met for a moment....

"I'm leaving!" James said getting up from his seat

"you haven't eaten anything-" Alec said as I cut him off

"I've lost my appetite!" James said and left from there....
