expected more from A king

The two are seated on the floor of the very much bigger insides of the house which is even more empty. But apart from that everything else is fine. On the ground there is a small bag of apples, about 5 of them, a big map, a small bag full of gold coins, 50 coins to be exact.

“I expected more from a king,” the man agrees with her statement.

“Anyways, master, what should I call you? You seem to be not liking when I call you master?” the girl asks.

“I'm Adam. And can I ask, you seem more chatty, if that's a word. Oh, and you live here, right? I mean this world. How much or how many things can this thing get you? The money, I mean. Is it a substantial amount?” the man asks.

The girl taps her chin, then she shakes her head.

“Not that much. Actually it can probably feed someone for a month, I think, I guess. Don't ask me, I don't know. I didn't buy stuff when I was working for the king, not really, working I mean like a slave, and I know that he was expecting me to kill you. But I cannot get angry with you, only angry with this place,” the girl says, her eyes almost fully turning blue, her hands are clenched.

The man takes the map, opening it. He sees it is a map of the kingdom. It has a red dot emitting some light.

“Before you ask, that is the position of the map, and yeah, it is magic. And I'll teach you to use it someday,” the man is surprised how she knew he would ask.plus the bonus one. "I will leave you on that, but there is a town 3 km north from here, which is about an hour to go and an hour to come back, and now it's about 8 p.m. I wish I had my watch or a guess from the sun. It is about... well, why is the sun so low? What time did I wake up? It seems to be exactly 1:49 p.m. or 2:00 p.m.”

“This guess was not that far off. It was just wrong by an hour. It was 3:00 p.m. when I actually..."I woke you up a bit late because I was to wake you up at about daylight but you were sleeping so soundly. It's like you have not slept in ages."

The man gets a bit embarrassed because he knew that he had a very unhealthy sleeping schedule of not sleeping in 4 days, only having a few minutes of sleep in those four days, then having a good sleep lasting only for 4 hours. This clouded his thinking and judgement. But he found a solution: energy drinks with caffeine and sugar were enough to kill a bull. Sweet things. But he used the energy drinks properly because he knew the effects it had, but he drank them when he needed to finish something within a short time frame, so having a few hours of rest was luxury.

"Ok, so we can't survive on nothing but 5 apples. Guess we'll have to take it to the town, buy some supplies, maybe something to help us make more money with this money... we'll just walk through the back but not today I know we will have to stay there for the night so let go tomorrow morning plus am way too lazy to do it today." The girls sighs "stop procrastinating we are going today"the girls pulls the man by the ear."stop no not today your not my mother to tell me please stop... I said please". the girl is bamboozled by the man but still continues.

When they go around the house, which was fairly rough, they found a smaller cabin, a shed to be exact. It has nothing of value except a lone robe. The two start their journey. The bugs are distracted by the nature. Adam pauses because of the nature because he had not seen it in years.

The girl is the same.

"Wow, look at those birds."

The girl points at the trees where there are two blue-feathered birds. Right when Adam looks at them, a snake swallows them both in one bite.

"So, Master Adam, can I ask why you always seem to get angry when saying something about your parents?"

Adam stops walking, thinking.

"Sorry, I can't answer that. It's too personal. But I can tell you the thing about the orphanage was the best before I got adopted." The man changed the subject as The two walk for 30 minutes, talking about different things. The next few minutes are spent talking about different topics. Adam was told by a girl about some sleepwalkers waking up at night and knocking on doors, and how funny that would be. The whole time The girl's black and white tail or mostly white than black tail was wagging all over.

"Master Adam, let me tell you something. Do you know... well, I'm only telling you this because I trust you... Oh, so do you know why I hate the whole world? It is because of my mother..."

The girl stops.

"Look the town."

The girl starts to pull the man while running.

When they arrive at the town, it is already 5 PM.

"Oh, so look for a place selling stuff. I mean all kinds of stuff. Just tell me we need something for the best. We need some fruits and vegetables... and carbohydrates."

"What about meat?"

The man thinks about it for a moment.

"Actually, no, because if we don't have a place to store them—a place cold enough—but if it's a few small pieces it's fine. It just has to not be too much."

The girl is disappointed, then she brightens up.

She leans near Adam's ear.

"What if I have a way of making the meat cold? I have magic. I'm only beast, no half-human with it. You see, I'm special. Very special."

The man agrees.

"It'll be fine. But remember, we will buy them after we are going back. We need to get other—"

The man is interrupted again, but this time it is for a good cause.

"Master Adam, look. A merchant. He seems to be selling stuff."

The girl's tail is wagging again. This time it is just as strong, creating enough force to carry a 2 kg object.

This excitement is brought by the thought of finishing this buying trip faster then buying meat, a very rare thing for her , even though working for a king.

"I've already got too excited. We still have to see if we can get the stuff we're looking for. We will need to find another one who can get us those things. But fine, let's go."

The tail stops, but the smile remains.

The two start walking toward the shop... Merchant Guild.

The girl looks around her, seeing the half-human slaves.some emaciated some young. All are sad
