The day of the concert arrived sooner than Jimin had expected.
The concert hall was already alive with staff members rushing from one corner to another.
Musicians warmed up backstage while technicians adjusted the lights above the stage.
Everyone looked excited.
Everyone except Jimin.
He stood alone in the dressing room, staring at his reflection in the mirror.
His hands refused to stop trembling.
A gentle knock echoed through the room.
"You can come in," said Jimin.
The door opened, revealing Yoongi carrying two cups of coffee.
"I figured you wouldn't have eaten," he said, setting one of the cups on the table.
Jimin smiled faintly. "You know me too well."
"I do."
For a few moments, neither of them spoke.
Jimin lowered his gaze. "I'm scared."
Yoongi walked over until they were standing side by side.
"Of what?"
Jimin looked at his own reflection.
"What if this is the last time I ever hear my piano?" he asked. "What if... I forget what music sounds like?"
Yoongi remained silent before placing a reassuring hand on Jimin's shoulder.
"You won't."
Jimin looked at him.
"You may not hear every note," said Yoongi, "but you'll remember every feeling those notes gave you. No illness can take that away."
Jimin felt his chest tighten.
"...When did you become so good with words?"
Yoongi chuckled softly.
"I've had a good teacher."
A stage manager knocked on the door.
"Mr. Park, we're ready for you."
Jimin took a deep breath.
"This is it."
Yoongi nodded.
"This is it."
As they walked toward the stage, the sound of the audience grew louder.
Or at least...
Jimin hoped it did.
The curtain slowly opened.
A spotlight illuminated the grand piano waiting in the center of the stage.
Jimin's heartbeat echoed in his ears.
"You've got this," said Yoongi.
Jimin looked back one last time before stepping onto the stage.
Thunderous applause filled the concert hall.
Jimin bowed politely before taking his seat at the piano.
Hundreds of faces looked back at him.
He rested his hands above the keys.
For one terrifying second...
His mind went blank.
He couldn't move.
Then he remembered Yoongi's voice.
"Feel it."
Jimin closed his eyes.
His fingers pressed the first key.
A deep vibration traveled through the piano into his fingertips.
Then another.
The orchestra joined him.
The low notes resonated beneath the wooden stage exactly as Yoongi had planned.
Jimin couldn't hear every instrument.
But he could feel every heartbeat of the performance.
Slowly...
His fear disappeared.
His fingers danced across the keys with the same confidence they had always carried.
Tears blurred his vision.
Not because he was saying goodbye to music.
But because he realized...
Music had never left him.
Backstage, Yoongi watched quietly from the wings.
A proud smile spread across his face.
"You did it," he whispered.
The final note faded into silence.
For a brief moment, no one moved.
Then the audience rose to their feet.
The entire hall erupted into applause.
Jimin couldn't hear every clap.
Some disappeared before reaching him.
But he didn't need to hear them.
The smiles.
The tears.
The standing ovation.
He could see everything.
And that was enough.
The moment he stepped backstage, he let out a shaky breath.
"I actually did it," he whispered.
"You did," said Yoongi, walking toward him.
Jimin smiled before shaking his head.
"No."
Yoongi frowned.
"No?"
"We did."
For the first time that evening, Yoongi's composure cracked.
A small laugh escaped him.
"I guess we did."
Silence settled between them.
Not an uncomfortable silence.
A peaceful one.
Jimin looked into Yoongi's eyes.
"Can I ask you something?"
"Anything."
"Why did you do all of this for me?"
Yoongi smiled softly.
"I've been trying to find the courage to tell you for a long time."
Jimin's heart began to race.
Yoongi took one slow step closer.
"I love you," he said. ( Ahhhhh finally, my heartu ❤️)
Jimin stared at him in stunned silence before a tear rolled down his cheek.
"I was starting to think you'd never say it," he replied with a small laugh.
"So... is that a yes?"
Jimin closed the remaining distance between them and wrapped his arms around Yoongi.
"I love you too."
Yoongi hugged him back, holding him as though he never wanted to let go.
When they let go of each other, they mate eachother's gaze
The gaze of love
Or
Something more
And then....
Yoongi leaned in, and his lips mate the plump one,
The kiss was soft
Slow
And gentle...
Outside the dressing room, the audience continued applauding.
Inside, neither of them cared anymore.
Because the most beautiful song they had ever known wasn't played on a piano.
It was the one their hearts had written together.
