Locked in

Jordan was faced with Carson who was standing in front of his door. Just then Rose came out of the living room to ask him another question on what she was studying.

"Hey Jordan I kinda don't understand something else could you--".

She was cut short when she saw Carson at the door staring at her with a blank expression. At that moment she was no longer wearing her hoodie, she was wearing a sleeveless round neck top that hugged her upper body, which she wore beneath the hoodie she had taken off, since she was feeling hot.

Carson was shocked to see her at Jordan's house. She dressed comfortably, and yet she still looked pretty and free. Not her usual uptight self. He admired the shape of her hips in the jeans she wore, her hair wasn't in it's usual slick low bun, and the top she wore emphasized her waist line which was relatively small. She looked simple, but he could still noticed she put in a little bit of effort.

"Hey rose, long time no see". Said Carson as he got himself. Something about her simplicity got to him. Rose gave him a quick smile and went back inside.

"What's up bruh". Jordan called back his attention.

"Uhh...yeah coach said I should let you know that we're having practice tomorrow by 4pm. He said he tried calling you but it wasn't getting through, so he sent me". Replied Carson rubbing his neck awkwardly.

"oh! Yeah. I'm so sorry. I put my phone on do not disturb". said Jordan laughing it off.

"Didn't know you and your little princess were so close". He asked looking straight into Jordan's eyes. Jordan chucked.

"We've been friends for 5 years now man. Of course we're close". He replied nonchalantly.

"Huh, I see".

"What's your deal with her anyway?. Look Carson, if you're looking for another form of thrill or plaything, don't even consider putting Rose on that list. Got it?". Jordan said firmly. His expression serious and threatening.

"If that's all you came for then thanks". He said with a less than warm smile as he closed the door.

Carson scoffed as he walked away. He recalled that day 2 weeks ago, when he had a really interesting conversation with Rose. After he asked her to teach him what love is, everything became awkward and quiet. So he decided to play it off as a joke and let her go. But since then she'd been avoiding him or anything that could lead to them being alone together again. He never really cared when anyone acted that way towards him, after all to him they weren't really important. But something about her attitude towards him and the disgust in her eyes whenever she saw him affected him in ways he couldn't understand.

Was he anxious?, angry? He wondered. What was it about her that triggered something in him?.

During P.E at school, they joined the girls and boys in class 2-A and class 3-A for a running exercise. Jordan and rose were standing at a corner talking when the teacher called Rose.

"Rose come over here". He commanded. Rose walked over to where he was standing.

"I need you to help Carson go get the red cones for practice".

"umm..I uhh...". She hesitated.

"What? is there a problem, or you don't want to help him?".

"No.. it's just..." She looked over at Carson who looked back at her with a slight smile on his face. "Nevermind".

"Good. Now hurry". Said their teacher. they both walked to the storage room to get the cones. Rose walked ahead of him in order to avoid any conversations. Carson noticed but decided to ignore. after they arrived at the storage room, rose acted calmly as she searched for the cones with her eyes. Carson came a few seconds later after her.

"You know it's very obvious that you're trying to get away from me rose ". He started.

"Could you just help me find the cones we were asked to get". She said as she walked around looking for them.

"You know it bothers me that you're avoiding me and I don't even know why". Carson continued. "Here I am trying to get your attention and there you are acting like you don't notice". He said as he walked over to where she was, grabs her hand and pushes her to the wall.

"What the hell are you doing?". Asked Rose with a confused, but not scared expression.

"I guess I'm offended". He replied.

"let go!" she commanded.

"Why do you hate me so much?. What is it about me that annoys you?".

"Carson " rose called calmly but firmly.

He sighs then let's go of her and steps back going directly to where the cones were kept behind the curtains. "Here they are". He said with a cold tone as he gestured to her to come with his head. She carried a few while he carried the rest. They walked towards the door silently. Rose turns the door knob only to find that it wasn't working. She wiggled and shaked it but it wouldn't budge.

"oh no".

"guess you're stuck here.... with me". Carson said slowly. With a mischievous smirk on his face.
