Chapter 4

After finishing writing, Simon went outside. That was when he saw his mother's car, and she called out to him.

"Simon... Simon..."

Simon quickly walked toward her, got into the car, and immediately started complaining to his mother.

"Mom, you know very well that I respect you, but what you and Dad are doing is something I really don't like.

Why are you treating me like a child?

Mom, I am grown up. If I had not worked hard, I would have already been at university."

His mother answered softly with a smile.

"We are only protecting you from the dangers of life. We want to see you become successful and wealthy like us."

Simon became even more upset.

"Mom, according to you, is being rich the only way to have a good life?"

His mother replied, still smiling.

"Yes, my child. When you are wealthy, you do not have many worries."

Simon looked at his mother.

"I don't want a life that is only about wealth. It will make me raise my children with pressure. Besides, Mom, when you look at me, do you see a happy person?

I am not enjoying this life. I always feel like I am being watched like a small puppy. There is this life that makes me happy.

If people were able to choose their parents, I would have chosen different ones for myself, or maybe poor parents."

Simon's mother became angry.

"Hey, young man! Are you saying you wish we were poor?

You are an only child, and you do not appreciate what you have."

Simon answered,

"I hate being born as an only child, Mom, because you do not give me freedom."

His mother stopped the car because she was extremely angry. She looked at her son, shook her head, and started driving again.

Simon continued complaining.

"Mom, maybe if you were poor, you would understand other people better."

After saying that, Simon slammed the car door and got out because they had arrived home.

His mother remained in the car, wiping away endless tears before entering the house, feeling hurt.

A week passed, and Simon and Senoinoi were still not speaking to each other. Senoinoi, however, was talking to Lucky.

Simon felt very hurt. One day, when they were going to return their books, Simon went to Senoinoi.

"Hello, my love."

Senoinoi replied coldly, as if she had a toothache.

"Hello:

Simon looked at her long face and stayed quiet.

Senoinoi kept a serious expression.

"What did I do wrong that makes you not want to talk to me?"

Senoinoi answered sadly,

"I told you to give me some time to think. Our relationship is not working.

Your parents have already chosen another girl for you. Leave me alone. I also deserve to find someone who truly loves me."

After saying that, Senoinoi left Simon standing alone.

Simon called after her.

"Senoinoi, please, let's talk about this."

Senoinoi did not listen. She continued walking toward her home.

When Simon entered his house, he found his parents packing his bags.

He was surprised.

"Mom, where are we going? Why are you packing my clothes?"

His mother answered with a smile.

"You are going to Lesedi's home. We think you will feel better there and clear your mind. Your thoughts are disturbed because of studying and everything happening around you."

His father added,

"That is enough for now, my son. Go and change out of your school uniform. We are leaving.

I heard Lesedi's father say that his daughter has also returned from boarding school. She is feeling lonely, so you will spend some time together."

Simon cried but did not answer his parents. He went to his room, changed into his home clothes, and prepared to leave.
