They left at five o'clock and arrived at Lesedi's home at seven in the evening.
Lesedi's parents were very happy to see their relatives again after ten years.
They were sitting down when Simon's parents knocked. They stood up and welcomed them.
"My relative, it has been a long time since we last saw each other. This is Simon."
Simon's mother replied with a smile,
"Yes, this is Simon."
Lesedi's father greeted Simon by shaking his hand.
"You have grown into a young man."
Simon smiled, even though he was not happy.
He asked,
"Where is Lesedi?"
Lesedi's mother answered,
"She is in her room."
"Lesedi... Lesedi..."
Lesedi came quickly, very happy to see Simon.
"Ah, Simon... you have grown into a man!"
Simon smiled shyly, his cheeks turning red.
Simon's mother was happy to see Simon smiling because that was exactly what she and her husband wanted, together with Lesedi's parents.
Lesedi took Simon's bags.
"Follow me."
Simon followed her sadly.
"This is the room where you will sleep. Can you believe how much you have grown? When we were children, we used to sleep in the same room."
She entered the room.
Simon looked around and smiled.
"Do you still remember when I used to babysit you?"
Lesedi laughed.
"Yes, I remember. You used to make me cry. You would pull my hair, and you always threatened me with your little dog called Push."
After a while, they became quiet and sat without speaking for a long time.
Lesedi noticed the silence and started asking Simon different questions.
She did not understand why Simon's family had visited, so she thought maybe Simon would tell her something.
"Simon, what grade are you in, or which university do you attend?"
Simon laughed.
"I am not at university yet. I am still in my final year of high school. If I pass, I will study at Wits University."
Lesedi smiled.
"I am going to study at the University of Pretoria."
Simon smiled.
"That is good news."
While they were still talking, Lesedi's mother called out.
"Lesedi! Lesedi! Come and eat."
Lesedi and Simon went outside together and walked to the dining room.
They had dinner, and later Simon's parents woke up early and left without saying goodbye to him.
The next morning, Lesedi's mother went to call Lesedi and Simon for breakfast.
Simon was surprised when he did not see his parents.
"Where are my mother and father?"
Lesedi's father answered,
"Your parents went back home. They asked me to tell you that they had already left because they did not want to wake you up."
Simon felt hurt and thought to himself,
"Mom and Dad, you have a plan. Is this the reason you brought me here? Even though you do not tell me, I can see it with my own eyes.
Now I need to find out if what I suspect is true.
I will find out through Lesedi if she knows about this plan."
Then he quickly changed his thoughts.
"Oh... I understand."
