Chapter 1: The Letter

"Mr. Karch is it time to close as yet?", twenty-three year old Marie asked as she finished organizing the glass vase on the shelf.

Kevin Karch looked up from the cash register, " well its 6 o' clock and the shop is empty and besides you look very tired". Karch has being running this Haberdashery for thirty years now after his parents passed away, being the only child of his parents. He gave Marie a job 4 years ago. She went out job hunting and she stood out from the other applicants who didn't seem to know proper customer service manners.

Marie is a hard worker and her parents taught her that anything she is doing she should always put out her best effort.

"I'll be fine Mr. Kar. All I need is a good night sleep and I'm good to go", she replied, hugging him.

He then grabbed the keys exit and started bolting the door of the Haberdashery.

" Let me help you with that sir", she offered.

He smiled at her, " don't worry i'll manage, my legs may be weak but my hands are still working fine".

Ever since he employed Marie, he has grown fond of her, especially since she almost lost her mom from a car accident.

" You got it sir", she replied.

Then they said their good byes and separated.

MARIE'S POV

One of the best thing about going home is Danny, I thought. We have been dating for five years now. I was eighteen when I first met him, at that time I was living with my mom in Brontie. We just started seeing each other until a year later he had to move because he got a job opportunity to work as a manager at one of the biggest corporations here in Wildman Street. I loved him so I decided to migrate with him ..... "honey are you ok?", Dan interrupted my thought.

I ran towards him and kiss him. I felt the warm of our gliding lips dispersed throughout my body. His lips felt the same as I've always remember them. I slowly pulled away , "why wouldn't I be babe?.. mwah", he kissed me again and clinging to my lower lip, "...I was just thinking just about you and how we met"

"hmmm, oh that!", Danny said taking hold of my tongue again. Something felt off with him from the past few weeks and he seems so distant at times.

I pulled away from him, "I think I'm the one who should be asking you that..." he barely met my eyes with his "....you have being acting strange lately and i'm concerned about that." He hugged me, "don't worry baby, I'm fine, come, kiss me!"

I didn't make any effort to move so he took a step forward and smirked, " come..", another step, ".. kiss", my heart started to race, oh stop that heart!, I thought, remember that you're upset, "... Me", he said closing the distance.

My heart stopped as I felt the tease of his lips on mine, so soft and welcoming. Lingering kisses tracing my neck lower and lower. Hmmm! I groaned as he glazed his wet tongue on the arch of my neck.

I felt my limbs going weak, then he seized the moment and kissed my lips with intense fire. He has always been a good kisser. I ran my hands through his hair and returned the kiss. I felt him lift me and was carrying me towards the bedroom...

Danny's POV

I don't know what to do because I don't love Marie anymore. My work gives me the opportunity to meet many people especially other women. She is a beautiful, loving person but I fell in love with Kerry, my co- worker. It wasn't intentional. Sex with Kerry is just way better. She just ignites something in me and I can't keep my manhood down when I'm around her. We are leaving the country in two days. Kerry knows that I'm living with Marie and its getting harder to keep up with this act any longer.

"...don't worry baby I'm fine, come, kiss me!', I command her. She didn't move so I went to her and kiss her the way I know she likes it. When she touched my hair I knew I had her so I lift her and deepen the kiss. I took her to the bedroom, throw her on the bed and started removing her blouse, I felt her hands fiddling with the buttons on my shirt....

I woke up. She had her hands over my belly and her face buried in my chest. I paused to take in her figure once more then slowing remove myself from her hold...

Marie's POV

I woke up smiling and stretching my hand feeling for Dan but all i felt was a piece of paper.
