Chapter III

"Geez. How can I forget my umbrella?" 

Nao heaves out a sigh as she sits down on the floor of the entrance while waiting for the rain to stop.

'I already saw gray clouds forming earlier, yet I didn't bring my umbrella with me. What an airhead!'

"How am I supposed to go home now? I still need to look for a job." 

Another breath leaves her lips as she buries her face in her arms.

"You seem to be down, Ms. Scholar. Is everything okay?" 

Nao quickly raised her head the moment she heard the too familiar voice and turned her head around.

"P-President!" 

She shrieked as she quickly stood up on her feet.

"Hello, Ms. Scholar." 

Klein smiled.

"Y-Yes, h-hello to y-you too, P-President." 

Nao responded in a low voice while hanging her head low, but enough for Klein to hear.

As she hung her head low, she saw the red string that connects her and his pinky together and she couldn't help but flush red.

The black haired president let out a chuckle at her behavior before speaking up.

"You still haven't answered my question yet, you know." 

He smiled at her.

"Q-Question?" 

Nao tilted her head to the side.

"I asked you if everything is okay earlier. And you didn't answer it." 

Klein chuckle.

"A-Ah! O-Of course, everything is okay! Perfectly okay!"

Nao exclaimed with a smile plastered on her face.

"Really?" 

She only nodded her head at him in response.

Klein only looked at her before blinking his eyes a couple times.

"Hey, Aisaka-san. Do you have any part-time jobs or anything else to do after school?"

He asks, looking straight ahead.

"Eh?" 

Nao blinked her eyes a couple times before looking down to the ground with a thin line on her lips.

"No, not anymore." 

Klein felt a pang on his heart when he heard the sadness in her voice.

He didn't utter a word, and only let out a hum, instead.

"If you'd like, you could work for me as my secretary."

Nao's eyes widen before she raises her head a little to look at Klein who's already smiling.

"Is… Is i-it okay with you, President?" 

Klein let out another chuckle as he found Nao's stutter quite adorable. 

"Of course, but first we'll see if you're qualified for the job." 

Nao's eyes lit up and a wide smile made its way into her lips.

"Thank you, President!" 

She bowed her head and Klein's smile grew bigger when he heard the happiness in her voice and his cheeks were painted with pink hue.

'Well, well, aren't you an adorable being?'

Klein chuckled before reaching out to pat Nao on the head, causing the younger black haired girl's face to flush bright red.

He couldn't stop the smile that's making it's way into his lips when he saw how Nao's face flush bright red. As he looks down on her, he notices the red string on their pinkies.

'Maybe she's really the right person for me. And if that's so, then it's better to let her work for me to know her better.'

Klein snapped out of his thoughts when he saw a black car arrive in front of the school gates and turn to face Nao and pat her on the head before speaking.

"Anyways, the rain stopped and I needed to go. See you tomorrow, Aisaka-san." 

Klein smiled as he waved his hands.

"Yes! Please be careful on your way home, President!" 

Nao waves her hands with a bright smile plastered on her face.

Klein turned around and waved his hands at her with a bright smile.

"Oh? What's this? My little brother has a girlfriend? My, my, that's news to me."

A blonde haired woman with blue eyes smiles as Klein enters the car.

"Please don't think like that, Kaya-nee. She's not my girlfriend." 

Klein smiled as he rested his cheek in his left hand.

"Yet." 

He blinked his eyes for a couple of times before looking at his sister who has a teasing smile plaster on her face.

"She's not your girlfriend yet." 

She smiled.

"Don't jump into conclusion. She's just a suitable person to be my secretary." 

Klein sighs before turning to face the window.

"And besides, you know that I don't have a control of my life." 

The blonde haired woman's smile turns into a frown and even the driver is frowning. 

She heave out a sigh before reaching out to pat his little brother on the head before speaking.

"Listen, Klein. I'll support you in every choice you made and so does mother, even if it's going to upset our father. I'll support you if you're together with that girl, to be honest, she's cute and she seems nice too. If only I can choose my sister-in-law, then I would definitely choose her without a doubt." 

Klein only chuckled before a wide smile plaster on his face.

'Thank you, Kaya-nee. You being by my side and supporting me means a lot to me. Thank you.'
