II.A Book

Rain was pouring out as I walk out of the house.I stood by the door staring at the ground as droplets fall,splashing.

I'm on my way to my grandparents house.I promised my grandad I'd visit them.My grandmother is sick.She's been ill for almost a year.I have to pay her a visit somehow.

"Amara,let's go" my father called for me as I tilt my head to look at him.He enters the car as I follow.

"I won't be able to accompany you today I have some urgent matters today."he uttered.I did'nt respond as usual.He's always like this.Bussiness here,bussiness there.

"We'll just drop you off and don't turn off your phone I'll be picking you up after"I nodded at his demand as I stare down the window,closed.

When I started living with my Dad he's always been so supportive of me.He cooks for me,puts me to sleep,feed me and specially spends his most time with me.But as I grew up it slowly fade away.

Then he met Nathalia,my stepmom.She's kind.She takes care of me and my dad all the time.I'm happy it's her that replaced my mom in his heart.

It's been a thirty minute drive since we left.We finally arrived at my grandparents house.The rain stopped pouring revealing the sky.

I went out the car as one of the maids assist me.

"I'll be back at nine"my father uttered as I smile and nodded.They then left.

"Miss,this way"the maid gestured showing me the way.I followed her and walked upstairs to my grandmother's room.

Nothing has actually changed since I left.The last time I visited was six months ago.

The maid then opened the door revealing my grandparents talking to each other.My grandma laying on the bed with a tube connected to his nose.

"Amara,darling"she smiled as I walk towards them giving them both a hug.

"Hello grandma,are you feeling better?"I asked sitting on the vacant seat next to her bed.She nods in response while I held both her hands.

"My sweet darling"she brushed her fingers through my hair.I smiled at her actions.Her eyes teary.I can tell that she's really in a hard position right now.

"I miss you"I softly uttered not letting any tear drop down my eyes.

"I miss you too,sweetie"she replied.Her eyes full of love and affection.She seems to be longing for soneone.She must have been lonely.Now that her medications are not working the doctors are struggling to find a cure now.

"How's school?are you enjoying?"she asks ins a worried town.I nodded.

"Yeah school is great,I have friends too"I happily responded giving her a happy vibe.

"That's great then.What about your father,is he okay?"she asks again.

"Yes,of course.He's been living as a healthy man"I replied.The room was a little dim.The curtains are down and only the lamp giving ligjt into the room and a little light from the window.

My grandfather is on the corner sitting on a chair looking at us.

"Is he kind?"she asks again.I furrowed my brows at her question.

"Dad?"I responded back.

"The guy you're going to marry?"I was stunned for a moment at her question not realising that I have'nt said anything yet.

"Maybe,yeah.Why?"I said unsure.

"I'm sorry I can't do anything about this"she caressed my cheeck looking at me in the eye.

"It's okay grandma,I'll be fine.He's actually a gentleman and a guy who looks like who can save me"I replied trying to comfort her.

"I hope so..."she responded.We we're having our moment when we heard a knock from the door.

The door opened revealing a woman with a white coat.She seems to be a doctor.She smiles walking towards us as grandpa followed.

"It's time for her medication"she kindly reminded while my grandfather nodded.I slowly moved away walking towards my grandfather.

"I'll just be at my old room while she's taken care of"I said while he nods.I left the room walking through the hallway.

I don't want her to leave me yet.

Time skip~

I've been at my room looking at some old photos for some minutes not noticing that I've fallen asleep.I stood up fixing the albums and putting them back at the box.

"Miss Amara!!"A loud yell and knocks from outside were heard.I opened the door as one of the maids look at me in shock.

"What is it?"I ask as she pants catching her breathe.

"Yo-your grandmother"she points at her room on the last room of the hall.I immediately walk towards it and my grandfather was already crying.

I looked at my grandmother and her face was more pale than earlier.The doctor is at the corner checking her pulse.I ran towards them and looked at her.

"Grandma?"I uttered tears starting form and falls down my cheek.She wipes it woth her hand.Her hand wss cold.

"Don't cry now my dear"she gave me a comforting smile.I just started to tear up seven more.

"Remember when we use to play at the garden of the house?"she asks reminiscing.I nodded in response remembering those days.

"I prepared a very special gift for you.It's in your secret place"I teared up even mote and tightly embraced her as she stroke her hands to my head.I started sobbing then I no longer feel her touch.

I looked up at her and her eyes were closed.I hugged her even tighter.I backed away and stood up.I looked at her one more time as I leave the room going out.

I leaned into the wall sobbing amd crying my heart out.Tears not stoping from falling down.Cries from the room were heard,especially my grandfather's.

I wiped my tears away and walked out of the house.I walked my way into the yard and to the garden.I stood by the fence and stared at it.

Flowers are everywhere and the open sky is beautiful.But now all I can see is sadness.

I slowly walked deeper into the garden and stopped infeont of a tree.The tree has swiwnsg in it.Me and my grandmother used to play here all the time.It's our secret place.

I go here evrytime I was hurt or inured or sad.And she'll always be here to take them all away.

I sat on the wooden plank and held tight onto the rope.I started to swing myself slowly as tears started to fall down again.

I look around then saw something by the bush.I wiped my tears and slowly walked towards it.I picked it up and saw a book.

The cover seems old but it looks beautiful.This must be the gift grandma was telling about.
