Chapter 2

Jinnu's P.O.V. :

I went in and started playing my pipa. All day long, I practiced but I didn't see any improvements in my practice.

It was evening then and the sun was setting in the west letting out golden-crimson lights which dashedd at my room from my window.

At that moment, I sighed and again, I felt something on my heart.

"No!No!No!"

Not again!! I can't really understand why but whenever l felt so sad, I felt like playing romantic musics on his memory!! Why?!!!

It was a feeling I couldn't resist no matter what and it would always embrace it warmth over me.

I picked up my pipa and started playing a delicate music of a romantic love. I somehow felt like there was someone with me at that time accompanying me other than my pipa. I wanted to turn my back and take a peek at who was there but I didn't.

I could feel a strange sensation. My heart felt so warm and it beated so fast like thunder. I felt so hot because I could see a shadow of a man.

I thought of taking the knife just next to me and stabbing him but again, my heart didn't allow me to..... AGAIN!!!!

Of course!! I was pretty sure it was him but I didn't say a peek. I continued with my playing and when I finished, I turned my back to find no one!

Was it a hallucination?! No! It can't be! I'm pretty sure he was right there! Or maybe......he wasn't there at all...... I think it was indeed my hallucination..... But why would he be the one if I were hallucinating?! It just.... can't be!!! I can't just fall for a man like that!! I must only focus in my pipa playing and nothing else!

"Just 6 days to go and it's my pipa concert with the other six ladies. If I manage to impress this hard-to-impress ladies, I'll be able to get in the Imperial Palace and become a professional pipa artist."

That whole evening, I played my pipa and went for bed.

Next morning, when I was snoring like a boar on my bed, someone knocked at the door and called my name.

"Jin! Jin are you in there??"

"Y-Yes...." I replied reluctantly while yawning.

"Jin, I bought the qipao your grandma had ordered me to make for you."

Oh yea!! The qipao!! I never thought it'd be ready so soon. My grandma had ordered aunt Na to make me one of the qipaos with a really hard to design pattern for my concert. Even though we the Hans usually wear hanfus for any social activities and in daily life, my grandma thought it to be a good choice for me if I could wear a qipao and perform it.

"Yes, aunt Na. I'm coming. Please wait a moment."

Even without brushing/fixing my hair which was all in a mess, I ran towards the door and opened it. Aunt Na gave me the box and left. She told me that my grandma actually paid her *1**7 taels of gold* for it!!

We were not poor, but 17 taels, not of silver, but of gold, was just already too much for the commoners like us.

I should say, my grandma is the best in this world. She sacrificed most of the savings she had just only to help me and see my dream come true regardless of her health which had been deteriorating since the past few years.

I opened the box only to find the most wonderful embroidery pattern I ever saw!! It was a crimson qipao with a golden-yellow pattern joining to form two figures; one of a phoenix and the other of a vermilion bird.

I tried it on and it fitted perfectly over me!! I'd swear I'd wear it on the concert or I won't go at all.

Well, honestly saying, it's the most beautiful dress I ever saw!!

But, what threatened me the most was that.... What if i got rejected by the Imperial Blossoms?!!!
