Ceo's Maid
The fire kept blazing, engulfing the house like it was nothing. The smoke and smell of burnt concrete and wood surrounded the area, making it hard to breathe. The sirens of the emergency vehicles pierced the ears as they tried to calm the fire. Among all the noises and debris, the crying of a young girl was heard. Tears streamed down her face as she held a sacred puppy in her arms, close to her chest as if to protect it. The rescuers had knocked down the door to the room where the little was, her crying had stopped but she sat there, the saviors put out the fire and came to her, "Are you alright, miss?" She didn't respond, it was as if she couldn't hear. One of the man took the puppy from her and she reacted, "N-no...G-give...back-" She couldn't finish as she collapse to the dusted floor.
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
The alarm went off, shook Avril out of her bed and onto her floor. She groans and laid there for a few seconds before her face started getting licked by a big fluffball. "King! S-stop!" She laughs as she tries to get away from the golden retriever, "I'm up...I'm up!" She repeated and the dog got off her and sat calmly next to the nightstand and watches her mistress gets up as well and walked to the bathroom, she stood in front of the mirror and stared at her reflection murmuring to herself, "Same nightmare again..." She gets herself freshen up for the day before she and King have breakfast. Once they were done, Avril dressed up into casual clothes and packed up some cookies she got out of the oven. She pets King's head and gave him a treat, "I'll be off now but I'll come early today as well, Guard the house well, my loyal knight!" She said and King barks as a 'yes' Avril giggled and stepped out of the house and locked it before leaving. Before she went further down the street, an old woman waved to her with a smile from her yard where she stood.
"Hello, Mrs. Millers." Avril said with a gentle and warm smile.
"Hello there, gorgeous lady." Mrs. Millers smiles as well as she compliments Avril.
She smiles sheepishly as her cheeks flushed with a light pink. Mrs. Millers giggles at her reaction and walks to her and hands her a Tupperware, "Please dear, give this to your grandma. It's her favorite, Grenadine and Papaya juice. I made it for her this morning, my...how much I miss that old woman. I can't wait for when she'll be back on her feet."
"Yes, me too..." Avril said in a low voice as her smile weakens. She took the juice from Millers' hand and put it in the bag she had packed the food for her grandmother. Before she looks up, she felt a warm hand on her head.
"Oh dear...Don't be sad, Lily wouldn't want to see you like this, she wouldn't like it that her grand-daughter is sad and worry because of her." Avril nodded and gave Millers a warm smile.
"You're right! hehe...Well then I shall take my leave. Goodbye, Mrs. Millers." Avril said while waving at her and starts walking to go meet her favorite person. Mrs. Millers waves back at her.
After half an hour of walking, Avril reached the hospital and greeted the receptionist before making her way to the room where her grandmother was. She knocked on her door and waited for a response but nothing. She tries again and called out to her, " Grandma...?"
"Avril? Come in, honey." Avril lets out a sign of relief and opened the door and entered, a smile on her face. "Hello, granny." Her grandmother smiles and opened her arms for her grand-daughter and she gladly hugged her guardian.
"How are you? Did something happened?" Avril asked her granny.
"If something happened!? The foods here are so infect! Horrible!" She said in a dramatic manner that made Avril giggles at her grandmother's attitude while the latter just smiles. Avril takes a seat on the chair next to the hospital bed and takes out the the cookies and juice she brought for her. " Well, you don't worry anymore. I brought you some fresh cookies and Mrs. Millers made you your favorite Grenadine and Papaya juice!" She hands it to her grandmother and she happily took it and started to eat. "Like we used to bake them, Delicious!" She smiles and continues to dig in. "Yes..." Avril smiles slightly, it hurts her to not be able to spent a lot of times with the dearest person to her.
"Oh, sweetie...don't be sad. Once I'm out of here and had shown those dumb doctors how strong I am. I'm gonna kick their butts for thinking I'm weak!" She said firmly and proudly.
Avril smiles and then once her granny had eaten, she puts the bowl back in her and kept smiling. But her smiles couldn't fool her grandmother, "What's wrong...?"
"Oh nothing, It's just that I found a job-"
"Oh my! that's a good news!" Lily cut her off as she was so proud that her angel could found a job after days of searching for one. Then she saw that Avril wasn't as excited as she should be. "Shouldn't that be a good news?"
"Yes but... I wouldn't be able to come visit you everyday." Her grandmother chuckles at her words and shook her head slowly, leaving Avril perplex.
"It's alright, honey. I'm fine with it and you also need to look after yourself instead of always worrying about me all the time."
"But grandma-"
"There's no buts." She smiles making Avril smiles genuinely as well.
"Okay, grams"
It was time for Avril to leave the hospital. As she walk out she waves at her grandmother and she waves back, yelling "I'm proud of you!"
Avril always gets out of the hospital with a smile on her face. She had always loved her grandmother since she was a young girl, after all, it was her that raised her into the woman she grew up to be.
'Thank you, grandma. You always make me happy. If only we could find one, you would had a higher chance of living more...oh grandma..'
Avril walks around the city until she stopped in front of a Cafe and decided to enter it as the scent of coffee filled her nostrils. Avril took her order and was going to head out when she bumped into someone and hot coffee fell on the person's suit.
"Oh shit!"
She looked up and when her eyes meet the guy's eyes, she felt daggers being thrown at her, feeling a shiver down her spine, She takes a step back.
"I'm really sorry, I didn't see you here! I didn't meant t-"
"Shut up!" Avril was cut off by him, "NO need to add more, you've done enough."
"Mr. I swear I didn't meant to do that, I didn't see you, I'm sorr-"
"You didn't see me? If you are blind you should not step out alone."
The man in suit rolls his eyes and sigh which pissed Avril off, "Watch your mouth. Not because I didn't say anything meant you could step out of your line. People like you always think you are higher than anyone else but you are nothing than an arrogant bastard." She rolls her eyes too and walks pass him but before she could walk away completely, She threw a handkerchief on his shoulder.
"You can use this to clean the big mess instead of trying to roast people around you."
Avril got out of the Cafe, clearly her mood and day was ruined and it made her mad. 'What a jerk'
She thought as she walks away leaving the man at the Cafe, mad and confused. To him, clearly the little girl didn't know with who she had messed with.
