Chapter 4: Asking out failed

“Oh you are the guy from the morning right?” Ryoko said. “I see you remember me.” He grimed. Ichika look at him. Nozaki Senpai.” She called. “Hello, Ichika. Is this your classmate?” he asked. “Yes, but Senpai have you met her today?” She asked. “Hmm.” He nods. “Excuse me but I came to return your wallet, it fell on the road when you took out your phone before coming to school.” He hands her over. “Senpai, you went to the student council meeting today right?” Ichika said. “Oh, I did how did you know? Did you went to the library today?” he asked. “I did. Kenta Senpei told me about it.” She replied. “I see so it was him.” He sighed. “Senpai you can complete your work in the student nicely, if there is short of people to take over your shift, I will cover for it if I am free.” She said. “Thank you Ichika- San. You are my true sister.” He said. “Sure, Senpai you are just like my older brother as well.” She said. “Then, I will go to the library to check out. I will see you later.” He said and left. “Ichika? He is your Senpai?” Ryoko asked. “Oh! Yes, he is.” She replied.  “So, why did you call him brother?” She asked. “Oh, that’s because you remember my elder sister?” She asked. “Yes, I do.” “Yes, he reminds me of her. After my sister went to live near her university we met only in holidays and vacation. So, when I first saw Senpai only one word came from my mouth and that was brother. If I had an elder brother I wish it to be like him.” She chuckled. “I see. Oh! Ichika looks over there.” Ryoko pointed. “What is it?’ she looked back. “Hanabi and Mitsumi- kun.” She said, “Did they started to date?” “No, why doesn’t he get that she likes him?” Ryoko asked. “Well, when it comes to you they don’t get the clue about it well, that usually happens. I don’t know if Mitsumi-kun has realised it or not.” “Ichika and her love theory.” Ryoko chuckled. “Hey, that’s true. And it’s better if the person confesses if it has such strong feelings.” She said.

“So, Hanabi. How are uncle and aunty?” He asked. “They are fine. Umm, Kotaro, it’s been a while since we went to somewhere together to hang out right?” She said. “Yeah, maybe it has.” He replied. “So, let’s go hang out some were on this weekend then?” She asked. “Umm, this weekend? I already have plans on that day, maybe some other day then.” He said. “Oh, I get it. It’s fine we can go someday else. It’s not like we have booked a movie or something.” She said and put back the movie ticks she was about to give. “Then, let’s talk someday else.” He left. “Yeah! Sure.” She waved her hand and sighed. “When can I ask him on a date, not as a friend?” She sighed again. The bell rang and students started to move back to their classes. Hanabi went with a disappointed face back to her class. “Oh! Hanabi you are back.” Ichika got startled. “Yeah!” She put down her head on the desk. “What happened to her?” Masami asked. “How would I know?” Kyouko replied to Masami’s question. “I tried to ask Kotaru to hang out with me this weekend but…he said he has plans so, maybe next time.” She replied. “So, what will you do about the booked movie tickets now?” They asked. “If you want to buy then do so.” She said. “Why are you not going?” She asked. “I don’t feel like going anymore. If I go then I will remember him while watching.” She said. “Nothing like this will happen,” Kyouko said. “By the way what kind of movie is it?” Ichika asked. “It’s a romantic movie called Stars of love.” She showed her. “Oh, I have seen it’s trailer, I wanted to watch it as well,” Ichika said. “So, Ichika why don’t you have them?” They suggested. “Oh, but there are two of them whom am I supposed to go with these two tickets.” She replied. “What about you Natsumi? You can go with your boyfriend.” They suggested. “Huh? Me? I have to go to Himada-Kun's home for the project.” “Oh! Then Ichika you buy it. I will give you one for free.” Hanabi said. “If you will give me one for free then I will ask some of my friend to watch it with me.” She said and purchased it from her. “Yay, thanks Ichika and do tell me if you like the movie,” Hanabi said. “Alright!” she sighed.

The school hours were over now and students went to their club rooms for the club activities. Ichika walked to the art club room. “Oh! Ichika-san you are here today.” The club president said. “Good afternoon. So, what will we be doing today?” she asked. “We are thinking of going to the drama club today.” The president said. “Huh? But why suddenly?” She asked. “Well, we heard that they need suggestion for costumes today. So, we will give them a hand.” The president replied. “Oh! But Mami- san, I am not good at drawing dresses.” She said. “Oh! I see Ichika- san then, you should draw anything you like today.” She suggested. “Oh, okay then have a good work.” Ichika cheered for them. “What should I draw then?” She thought and opened her phone to look at the internet. She scrolled down and down and finally got what she felt like to draw. She took her earphones from her bag and tuned on the music as she started to draw. Generally, Ichika draws scenery and whatever she feels like. The art club when are out of modals draws still art with the available objects. “Lala… so stay with me, my love.” She was humming the song with was being played. Suddenly a notification came on her phone she looked at it. “Senpai.”

Tatsuya- Senpai: Ichika- San the art club is here today to help us with the costume designs.

Tatsuya Senpai: Aren’t you coming with them as well?

Ichika: I can’t.

Ichika: I don’t draw dresses and I am not good at it so, my club members will help you.

Tatsuya Senpei: Oh I see. Too bad, oh next time do come and help us up with the backgrounds.

Tatsuya Senpai: Do you know how to draw backgrounds? Or not?

Ichika: I do.

Ichika: Okay then I will see you next time when I came for the background work Senpai.

She continued to draw. She noticed another notification. It was again from Tatsuya. He said okay. Ichika let out a deep sigh and looked out the window and smiled.
