Chapter II

As I walked out of the ring there was a roar of cheers. I walked straight up to Rick and asked for my money because the last thing I was gonna do is come up for another stupid reason to rob me. "Hey Rick! you got my mone-"

"You should calm down I got it right here, youll get it in a minute."

"No I want it now!"

"You'll get it I swear, it's right here in the shirt pocket over my heart. Now go get dressed... and maybe take a shower." I mean really, I'm not trying to be a **** I just don't want to get screwed over, plus I can't be too rude considering that guys like a father I never had. So I decided to take his advice and take a shower even though the fight was extremely easy, but hey $200 is mine now. They usually don't pay that high but it was supposedly some kinda champion of the sorts so they coughed up 200 for the match that was over in 2 minutes. In the locker room it was earily quiet, I mean usually the doctors here or some drunk dude.... y'know the usual, but tonight waa just dead. I just decided to take the silence and think as I took a shower, But then out of nowhere BANG. Shit that sounded like a gunshot I gotta make sure Rick's okay. I step out of the locker and just hear people screaming and running in all directions, I looked around but saw nothing but people but then suddenly BOOM the entire wall came down revealing us to the outdoors as an SUV rolled away with their system blaring. I went over to the giant hole in the wall and made sure everybody was okay. That's when I saw him. Rick. Some of you probably predicted this, I did too I just didn't want it to be true. Covered in blood I bent down by him and he said

"Come for your money eh?"

"Rick you're gonna be fine." I tried to be supportive but he caught my bluff.

"No I'm not kid, No I'm not. Now here's your money, don't spend it all in... one... place." He was fading out, dying if you will. But in his hand covered in bloody finger prints was an envelope with my name on it. I didn't even want my money at this point I just wanted my douchey best friend back. when they loaded him into the ambulance I knew deep down that I will never see him again. The funeral was hard, and yes a hard man like me actually cried, I went to his house to go pick up the things that I'd left when I was living there 2 summers ago before I found an apartment by the gym. And although I shouldn't be thinking about this on the day of My best friend getting buried, but who's gonna run the gym?
