Getting started

Zane looked over at his mother in surprise after he calmed down, “ what?! Please no. I don’t want to leave my friends here.”

“The animals will be fine.”

“Please mother, I just want to stay..”

“No. We are going to live in the castle.”

Zane got up and tried to walk away but the knights stopped him and picked him up, “please do not resist.” Zane started to move around and kick the air so that they would drop him, “ PUT ME DOWN!”

The kinghts carried Zane to his room in the castle where a few maids were there to help get him into the dress. They took him over to the closet and gave him a dress, “hurry now, you need to choose your bodyguard.” Zane got into the dress and the maids helped him with the tiny details on the dress.

He walked down the stairs and the king looked up at him in amazement, “there’s my beautiful daughter.” Zane stopped him before he could get any closer, “stop right there, this is as far as I’m going with this princess thing.”

“Understood. Please come down to choose your bodyguard.”

“Sure.”

Zane walked down to the throne and stood there looking at all of them, “I’ll need to see their skills before I can choose.”

“All knights who want to be a bodyguard come down to the field to show your skills.”

Zane walked out to the field and saw the knights getting ready. He looked over at the bow and arrows and walked over to them. The knights were called to attention and were waiting for Zane.

One of the maids found Zane shooting the targets. Zane is an amazing archer and he loved shooting for fun during his free time. The maid walked over to him and tapped Zane on the shoulder, “ma’am you’re needed in the yard for the showing of the knights.”

“I’ll be there in a moment let me shoot one more shot.”

“Ok.”

Zane shot his final arrow and split another one when it hit the bullseye. Zane turned around, “let’s go.” As he started to walk away he left the maid in surprise as he left the arrows in the target. There were ten split arrows on the bullseye.

The maid rushed over to Zane and walked with him to the field. Once they got there the knights were still standing there at attention. Zane walked down into the field and stood in front of the knights, “one of you will get to be my bodyguard, the rest will be knights under my command.”

The knights looked confused as Zane stood there talking, “one of you, only one will be skilled enough to protect me, I’m strong enough to protect myself but if I must have a bodyguard I want the best.”

Once Zane finished his speech he started testing the knights. Their first test was to do the o sticks course faster than Zane could. Zane walked out in a uniform that the knights had so that he could do the course.

Zane bolted at the start and made int through the course by thinking it was like the forest. He got through with the time of 5.6 seconds. All of the knights were amazed at Zane’s flexibility and agility, one of the knights was ready to beat Zane but half way through the course he stumbled and fell into the mud.

Zane walked over to him and bent down, “you’re out.” Zane walked over to the others, “who’s next?” All of the knights backed up and one by one they all failed. Only ten of the knights made it through the course faster than zane only by five milliseconds.

The second challenge was to fight zane, “ whoever can pin me down before I can pin you down will go on to my next challenge.” The fights began and the first three people failed. The fourth person walked out and was taller than Zane so Zane had to look up to speak to him, “are you ready…?”

The knight looked down, “ready as I’ll ever be shortie.” Zane blushed a little and they went to their sides of the field. A few seconds later they both flew at each other and started fighting. The knights had to pin Zane down for ten seconds and Zane had to pin each of the knights down for ten seconds.

At the start Zane knew to keep his distance to make his opponent waste energy. Moments later he was hit into a wall.

Zane looked over at the knight with anger in his eyes, they were allowing weapons in this so Zane grabbed a bow and arrows. The maid who saw him earlier got scared for the knight, “wait!”

Zane and the knight stopped and looked over at her, “u-uh the food is ready, why don’t we eat and then we fight..?”

“Sure.” Zane stared at the knight for a moment, “I could eat.” Zane and everyone else went to the dining hall and Zane sat next to the knight he was fighting earlier, “the food was delicious now if I may be excused I would like to go practice.” Zane got up and walked out of the room and went to the field to shoot targets.

While Zane was shooting the knight came out to watch, “you’re good shortie.”

“Don’t call me that.”

“Why not?”

“I’ll shoot you during the challenge if you call me that again.” Zane shot another arrow without looking and it went through the target and the backboard, landing all the way in the ground.

The knight backed away a bit scared. They kept talking for another hour as everyone finished up eating.

Once everyone was done they all came out and the fight began again. As Zane knocked an arrow the knight went behind him and Zane looked around confused at where the knight was. The knight grabbed Zane’s arms and legs and pinned him down almost breaking Zane’s ribs.

“One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, and ten, the knight wins!”
