“So it’s Aiden who stole your heart?”

Avery went inside the school, heart still beating really fast. She couldn't stop thinking of Aiden.

She even spaced out during her classes, thinking about Aiden. During math class, she was asked to answer a question but there was no response from her.

Avery was one of the top students. She had a really great memory. The thing she would read twice would remain in her mind forever. So , her unexpectedly spacing out during class was worrisome for her best friends.

During the break, Avery's best friends , Emma and Lilly came to her desk and asked her, "are you fine? You have been spacing out today. Is Everything OK??" Emma asked with worry on her face.

"yeah! Everything is going great and I wasn't thinking about anyone!", said Avery smiling brightly. Suddenly Emma and Lilly looked at each other, signaled eachother with their eyes and gave eachother a smile. Then Emma said to Avery, "Avery! I didnt question if you were thinking about someo—”. Emma was about to finish her sentence when lilly interrupted her with a question.

“So Avery, who have you been day dreaming about? Hmmm?”

“W-what?...N-N-No, I haven’t been Day dreaming.” Avery replied her nervously.

“Oh come on! We have known you since age 13. You think you can lie to our faces?!” Emma barged in the conversation.

“So is the person you’ve been daydreaming about, a boy?” Lilly asked Avery curiously.

“Well i guess I cannot lie to you guys cause you guys are gonna keep insisting until I tell the truth.” Avery told them about the morning incident.

“So it’s Aiden who stole your heart?” Lilly whispered.

Avery blushed really hard. Suddenly Emma seemed a bit worried so Avery asked, “what is it Emma? Why do you look worried?”

“No, it’s just that we shouldn’t talk about a boy in our school... You know how furious the teachers will turn... you guys do remember what happened to Clarisse, dont you?!” Emma replied.

“Yeah we do. We would talk about this matter on phone. All agreed?” Lilly asked. Emma and Avery nodded their heads.

After the school had ended, Avery sat under a tree to wait for Aiden. After waiting for about 5-6 minutes, Aiden came out. Just by looking at his handsome face Avery’s heart skipped a beat. Aiden came to her and asked, “So shall we go?”

“Yeah”, replied Avery in a quiet voice.

“How long has it been when we were able to talk freely with each other?” Aiden questioned while looking at the sky.

“It’s been really long”, Avery said gloomily.

“We cannot talk to each other in a family occasion or a party. We cant even look at each other in school. I don’t know why our parents don’t like us together. We used to be the best duo in our family. We were even partners in crime.”, Aiden’s expression turned sad.

“But we saw each other today and even talked to each other,” said Avery to comfort Aiden.

“And you know what, Aiden, your voice has really changed, it’s so deep now, you used to soung like a girl back then. Seems like puberty has hit you really hard, has it?” Avery asked while laughing.

Aiden looked a bit embarrassed but he thought of a comeback, “oh yeah! And what about you? Did periods make you gain wait?”

“Ha! You still can’t come up with good comebacks. It’s a point for Avery and a big zero for Aiden!” Avery was laughing really hard and watching her laugh, Aiden also started laughing.

Suddenly Aiden said,“If it’s fine with you then I will come pick you up tomorrow morning and we will go to school together.”

“Aiden, I-I think it will be difficult for me. You know how my mom is,” Avery said hurriedly.

“Oooof.... I don’t understand our parents! What is wrong with Me talking to You!?” Aiden was quite annoyed.

“C-can we exchange our contact information, for now?” Avery was hesitatingbut still asked what was in her mind.

“Yeah sure! Because that is the only thing we can do.”said Aiden.

Aiden and Avery exchanged their contact information and walked quietly towards their home. Aiden's home was in the same direction as Avery but a bit far. After walking for 10 minutes Avery reached her home. Avery thanked Aiden for walking with her to home.

The day had come to an end but Avery was happy that she got to spend time with Aiden and even got his number.
