Jenny and Jessica

Later on in the day we finally were in history class, not too much of

my surprise I sat next to Jessica and Jenny. “Mina! Did you happen

to talk to Ray?” I leaned over” Yeah of course I talked to him, I

asked him to walk home with the group.” Jenny and Jessica looked at

each other and whispered things I couldn't quite hear but I didn't

pay any attention to them, my mind was else were looking at Ray with

his history book open back to the board to write down the notes the

teacher had for us to do. Scribbling as my pencil wrote hearing Jenny

call to me. “Mina, Mina!” in a low whisper as she passed me a

note from Jessica. Unraveling to read it “Mina do you think you

could have a minute with me at your locker after class?” My eyes in

the center of my book I nodded. “Yeah, I have time.” mouthing my

words to her so I didn’t have to write back. For whatever reason, I

felt like someone's eyes were darting at me as if they hoped I would

make a mistake. I looked around but then there were Ray’s eyes deep

brown looking right at me with a smile, My face reddened as I felt

his glare on me as if I was a beautiful creation in front of him. The

time in class slowed as the notes the teacher was having us write were

beginning to become less and less as I scribbled his name

occasionally on the notes. Naive and struck by the way he looked at

me entranced by his gaze that distracted every word in my ears and

made my hand sweat across my pen just thinking of what he was

thinking about when he was looking at me. But I already knew what he

thought because I looked at him the same way. It seemed like forever

till the next class, till the bell rang loud with a blaring ring for

the next class. Standing up and walking to Jessica and Jenny. “Ill

met you at my locker right before class we don't have long to get to

the next class so let's go on I have to swap my books out anyways.”

Walking to my locker number one twenty-five, spinning the lock to

unlock it, till a note was in my locker and I opened it. The letter

reads “Who do you think you are? Who gave you any right to

like ray? Don’t you think you aren’t good enough for him you are

plain, you aren’t smart enough what are you like average in

class? I am warning you to keep away from Ray unless you want trouble.”

I crumbled the note in my hands swapped my books out and there Jenny

and Jessica were, as I shut the door to my locker.”Oh hey, so what

is up guys?” I asked them as they both Surrounded me “You know

Mina, do you think you can not like Ray?” Jessica asked,  “I

really like him don’t you think that both of us shouldn't date him

since we are in the same group and like him?” I turned to her with

a red face. “I don’t think that is fair...I like Ray and if you

like him you should try to go for him too, let him choose don’t you

think that is fair?” Jessica looked at me and slammed her hand at

the locker next to mine. “I don’t think that is fair, do you want

us all to fight and split the group up over some guy?” I placed my

hand up “Well right now I don’t know how Ray feels, but I think

he likes me like me and I don’t think He looks at you like he looks

at me so why should I give up when he likes me?” Jessica getting

close to me as if to trap me between the two. “Mina do you really

think that? Don’t you want to be a good friend, don’t you want to

help me find love too?” I looked at Jessica feeling surrounded at

the moment. Not sure of what to say but understood I was in no

position to fight two against one since I was a lot smaller and not

strong as them. After all, Jessica was a fast runner and always would

run after than me in gym class. Now Jenny with how small she was I

knew I could take her myself if needed but with Jessica, with how

strong and fast she was I knew I was no match for the two. “I think

I am a good friend and you can’t tell me otherwise I think what you

are asking me is unreasonable, you are asking me to not like a guy

that likes me and I like him. I think it is better to see who he

likes.” I didn’t know at the time it would be something I chose

that would change my life, going through it felt like hell. I don’t

regret it though after all his eyes when they looked at me with so

much admiration how could I ever regret the feeling he gave me, how

could I forget the way his eyes sparkled and the way his whole body

lit up when I walked into the room. Pushing my hands into them and

separating them to walk to the next class as soon as Tevon passed me

by. “Mina, what’s going on here?” I smiled and felt small

“Nothing nothing is wrong I was just talking to Jessica and Jenny,

it’s nothing.” Tevon and I looked at them as she and I began to

walk to the next class together. “You just came right in time. I

was having a really uncomfortable moment.” Tevon throwing one hand

over my shoulder.”Don’t worry Mina I got you.” I smiled. “I

know you do that is why we are friends. You always are watching out

for me and giving me good advice.” Tevon smiles and nodded “Well

you are always so sweet to me and always trying your hardest and you

are always making jokes for everyone to laugh and even doing things a

little different and really, really animated Mina, you are so funny

to watch and be around.” I was embarrassed by her compliment “I

think you are so strong and always know what to fight for, you make

me so happy that we are friends.” Walking into class I sit next to Ray , Tevon is sitting next to me and Devin who sat next to

Steven. Hearing Devin laughing it was nice but that wasn’t to say I

wasn't rather jealous she had someone who would hold her hands in the

hallways. Writing and studying catching up on old work and getting

all of us in a group even ray was there so I didn't want to talk to

them about my run-in with Jessica and Jenny. But It didn't matter

really I got to look at Ray and his dark hair. Scooting my desk with

Ray and Tevon as we circled in our free time. “Hey Ray, I have a

question for you?” I rested my head as I looked at him, SO what

would you do if you found out that two girls liked you?” HE looked

confused and leaned into my ear “Why do you ask that?” I flushed

red as I stared at his eyes Tevon looking at me nudging me as the

teacher walked by. Coughing not wanting anyone to hear my reply the

teacher noticed my cough. “Mina, everything alright?” I flushed

red “Oh it's nothing just Ray was helping me with work from another

class.” I lied but I would rather lie than let everyone know my

feelings for him. The rest of the day pretty much uneventful till I

would go to my locker after my final class.
