It All Ends With a Smile

Since I can remember you’ve always loved to fight and would always pick fights with the neighboring children. I would always gasp at your unmatched strength. That’s probably why you joined the military and became a general with direct orders from the emperor. While staying undercover being the emperor’s right hand. I was just fine acting as your subordinate, as long as I got to see you I was happy.

And with all your fame you slowly forgot me, but I still served you all the same because you were still you, or at least you were.

When we went to war with the neighboring kingdom. All the bloodshed was too much for either side to withhold. So you devised a plan, some of us would steal some of the opposer’s uniforms and act like them so we could obtain their war strategy. The rest would stay and prepare to fight.

I was in the different half of this operation I was a scout to see where they were on the battle field, and report it to the emperor. For a few weeks I watched the other side of the war and came up with a plan of my own I decided to go under cover and retrieve information for his majesty. After a few years of fighting and blood loss, the war was finally over with minimal damage on are side and great loss on the other. We have finally won!! I was the only one that stayed on the opposers side, well the only one that was left at their defenses.

[Allied forces view]

“GENERAL OVER HERE!!!” One of my soldiers yelled in my direction. I run fast in his direction. “What is it Montez.” I drop to his level as he points at a soldier of the opposing side. “Is that the last of them?” He nods to respond to my question. I will finish them off, I sign to him. He nods again. I draw my sword and slowly approach.

[ opposing side (spy for allied forces) view]

“I really need to get back to the emperor and tell him about my success in infiltration and our success in wining this long war.” I sigh in relief. I look down at the bloodied field and feel a moment of sadness and loss. “Goodbye old fiends rest in pea…”

A man is standing in front of me holding out a sword with no end in sight. I realize in whom had this endless sword, and where the swords end may be. “I GOT YOU, YOU DISGUSTING FERNILIAN!!” He said with the most malicious emphasis and hatred in his eyes. I couldn’t help but smile and fall deeper into the sword that lay in my chest. I groan from the pain that slowly gets stronger it I continue to fall. Hugging him and embracing the sword. “ I’ve been waiting for you Beasty.” The smile on my face can’t help but get bigger even with the pain now befalling me. “GET OFF ME YOU CRAZY WOMAN!!!” He kicks me off of him and the sword and I fall facing the sky with a gasp that releases blood from the wound and my mouth. I felt another sharp pain go through my chest and I looked up and smiled “goodbye general beasty.” I whispered and fall into the endless sleep know as death.

[ allied forces view]

“General are you okay did the Fernilian do anything to you.” I look down at the dead woman smiling up at me. “I am fine just finishing off the trash that was left is all. We should report to the emperor that the war is over and that Velronia has won.” I tell him and he runs off, but I don’t care for I was going through what that woman said to me “Beasty?” The only person whom has said that to me was Rosie… How did this woman even know my nickname. Maybe I should look. I slowly kneel down to take off the woman’s hood, when I reveal the woman’s face I start to cry. “ I——I… What have I done?” The smiling face of the woman that I once called trash and disgusting belonged to my childhood friend and the woman I loved deeply Rosie. I had just killed the woman I loved.

“General, General!!” When I finally got to the spot that the General was her was holding the woman the he killed not saying a word. “ General why are you holding that Fernilian woman?” I ask him but he doesn’t respond, he just picks up the dead woman and walks toward the first line of defense with his head down. On that very same day the General was hung for killing the kings first class knight Rosie Alex.
