The Prophecy
" AIDEN!!!! I AM GOING TO MURDER YOU WITH A FREAKING SPOON!!!"
That jerk ate the last of MY cereal!
"What's up sis? Why do you look so angry? Why are you bending that poor spoon?"
I look at my idiot of a twin with pure anger running through my veins.
"Oh, is this about your cereal? Yeah, sorry, I meant to tell you that I ate the last of it for a midnight snack. My bad."
"I. Am. Going. To. Murder. You!" Instead of the usual look of fear people give me, Aiden looks at me with that stupid grin of his.
"No you're not. You can't kill me! Wanna know why? You probably already know why. Actually, I know you know why you can't kill me, your poor innocent twin brother. You can't kill me because if you did, Mom would kill you and then bring back you back to life just so she could kill you again."
"You owe me my cereal. I have been looking forward to a beautiful bowl of sugar for twenty-four hours. My day was going so well, and then I get to the kitchen and see my cereal box empty. How could you do this to me, AJ?"
Aiden looks me in the eyes and I can see he feels a little guilty about eating my food, but then his smile returns.
"I know! We can just go over to mom and dads for breakfast! That way we can have mom's homemade waffles! Plus, you haven't seen our siblings in what, four days? Come on, Heave, that's cruel, even for you."
Please Heavenly! I want to go too! Let's go! Come on! Why are you still standing here? Hurry up and start moving!
Kayla, you need to calm down. You know we have training this morning, and you have been out of control and I can't risk one of us hurting someone.
We aren't going too.
We're going too. Kayla, we are staying here and then going to training. End of discussion.
But I want waffles.
You can have waffles some other time.
No, I want waffles now!
No, you need to calm down.
WAFFLES! RIGHT NOW!!!
Kayla calm down! Seriously calm down!
I feel my claws push out of my fingertips and feel Kayla surfacing more and more with each passing second.
Fighting against her, takes a ton of concentration, and I can feel her get more worked up about stupid waffles and seeing our family.
"Heave, you know if your wolf wants
something, you won't be able to keep her under control, so you might as well stop fighting and come with me to the house."
Aiden does have a point. Ever since my first shift, I haven't ever gained proper control over Kayla.
Nobody knows that except for my parents and Aiden. To everyone else, I am the perfect picture of a princess.
If they knew the truth, there could be an uprising, and that definitely wouldn't be good.
If we go get waffles, will you calm down and let me get through training this morning before our daily run?
I solemnly swear to behave myself.
"Fine, you both win. Let's go get waffles."
"Yay!" I shake my head, wondering how my wolf and brother always seem to team up on me.
