Chapter 5 My Mother's Lover

[Kath's POV]

After that revelation, I started to ask questions about my mom's lover.

"I think you should tell him that you're pregnant"

I need to be strong for my mother because she only have me.

"Kath are you not angry?" she asked.

I shook my head.

"Mom, I love you and as long as you're happy. I'm okay with it"

"You're really a good daughter. I'm so lucky because I have you" and my mom hugged me tight.

"But if it's okay to ask, what's the name of your lover?"

"He's Tiantian"

"What's his full name?"

She cried again.

"I don't know, Kath"

I didn't ask more because my mom is pregnant. It's bad for her to worry too much. How can I find this man? Whatever, I will take care of my sibling and my mom even if I can't find my mother's lover.

I can't fall asleep because of my mother's confession. Although, I was able to cheer her up a bit.

I woke up early in the morning again because I have a work tomorrow.

"Kath, I'll miss you" my mom said.

"I'll miss you too mom. Don't worry. I'll always call you and I'll find Uncle Tiantian"

"Thank you, Kath" and she smiled sweetly.

She also kissed my forehead before I left the house.

It will be a long journey again. I arrived 8 pm in my apartment. I saw Daphne eating pizza.

"You ate unhealthy food again"

"Because Kath you're not here" she said and hugged me.

"How's Aunt?"

"She has a huge problem"

"What's her problem?" she asked in confusion.

"I'll answer your question tomorrow. I'm really worn-out"

She pouted her lips like a kid. Daphne also started to whim about it.

"You're such a cliffhanger. That's why you're a writer" she crossed her arms angrily and closed her door.

I laughed of what she said. My best friend is cute sometimes.

I woke up early because we have a work tomorrow. I need to cook our breakfast and lunch. I need to save money for my mother.

"Kath!" Daphne spooked me.

"What are you doing?!" I asked angrily because I thought it was a thief.

I am hesitating if I should tell her or not. Well, Daphne never judge me and I think my secret is safe with her.

I sighed deeply.

"My mom is pregnant" I stated.

"What?! Why? How did this happened?"

"Don't ask a lot of questions. I can't answer you"

"Tell me the story from the beginning"

"First of all, it was really surprising to know that my mother is pregnant. I am not sure of how should I react. I am scared and happy at the same time. Happy because I always wish to have a sibling. Scared because my mom is old. It is difficult for her to give birth in that age"

"That's really shocking" she commented.

"But I'm curious? Who's your mother's lover?" she asked.

"Mom said that his name is Tiantian. I'm not sure of his full name because my mom doesn't know about it"

"Kath, that's really sad" she cried like a baby.

My best friend always has a big heart.

"I'll help you find this man" and she hugged me.

"It's arduous to find a man that you neither seen nor heard. Second, I don't know his full name" and I scratched my head in irritation.

"I know you can do this. You're Kathleen Miyu Fumiya" she reminded me.

I stop thinking about my problems because I have a work today. Also, one of my book will become a movie. This will be stressful because I need to revise some parts of it.

"Miss Fumiya, you are always early" the director said greeting me.

"Yes director. I still need to edit some of the actors and actresses script"

"I like that attitude" and he smiled at me.

I love my work more than anything else. I always give my best shot. We were interrupted because one woman suddenly talked.

"Move aside" Jenny said she will be the main character of the movie.

Jenny Tanaka is a famous actress. Her face looks like an angel but she's actually a shameless woman because in order for her to get a big project. She slept with different kinds of man.

She's also bossy because no one dares to complain about her attitude. Jenny has the higher ups backup.

I hear humors that she's targeting our new president. I think they are match made in heaven because Mr. Ackerman is a playboy and Jenny is brazen woman.

I don't really care but there's a part of me that aches. Why am I getting hurt because of that thought?

"Where is CK?" Jenny asked to the staff.

She's really a horrible person. It's time for work and here she is flirting in broad daylight.

We started to shoot the scenes of the movie. Jenny is indeed a remarkable actress but there are times that she's acting like a b*tch.

Jenny is also seducing the Male lead while filming. The actor is not interested but she's too pushy throwing herself to the male lead. my

"Kath" a cold familiar voice said. Oh God! I'm trying to avoid you why the hell are you here?

I look behind and saw CK looking at me intently. I am melting because of his stare.

I don't remember having a closer relationship with him. Why he's calling me by my nickname. He's always getting on my nerves.

"I'm sorry. Mr. Ackerman. What do you need?" I asked.

"Follow me. I need to talk you about this project" I followed him. I don't have any other choice. He's my boss and I hate him.
