The prologue..

Nate is a resilient and street smart twenty four years old who know very well how to run and hide from the many loan shark he owed money to.

He struggled each day to put food in his empty stomach but always exceeding in avoiding being caught by the relentless men after him.

That was until Nate's luck ran out when he was caught by the viper's son.

Kai is only nineteen years old but wildly known for being the son of the notorious loan shark, the viper, who has the reputation of being vicious and evil to the core.

Kai is just as ruthless as he obediently follow every order given to him by his father without objection.

However, kai puts his own life in danger when he goes against his malicious father for the very first time when he doesn't kill or torture Nick when he catches him.

Instead he makes an arrangement with him that Nate simply can't refuse which involves taking care of a hyperactive small boy with hazel eyes named zekey.

Nate pov....>

" Does it actually work ? i will give you ten dollars."

" hm, give me twenty then it's all yours." I agreed without hesitation at the sweaty man behind the broken down, glass counter who did not seem to be convinced with the ugly portable radio in his hands.

he was inspecting here and there with a suspicious glance but wasn't sure he would make a profit out of selling it again so i had to keep lying.

That was the only way i was going to have money to eat today.

Selling junk at a places like this was a part of getting a bit of extra money in my pocket.

Usually it was Melvin who sit here and gives me a little more for the things not worth the money since he knew my situation but that lucky bas*rd was somewhere in Cancun right now.

So i was stuck here negotiating with this know it all loser.

" This not worth even fifteen dollars. It has been broken switches and the antenna is slightly bended," I was stuck listening to everything i already knew as I glanced around at the crappy items put on display that are equally as shitty as portable radio and being sold for ridiculously amount of money.

" Okay, I get it. The radio is a piece of sh*t but Cut me some slack here. what's the best you can do?" i got straight to the point and wanting nothing more than to leave this place that was humid and reeked of cigarettes.

This older, over sweating man with only a white tank top leaned in and put the radio on counter as his tired eyes watching me carefully.

His disgustingly grim while he looked at the areas of my body that wasn't normal to look at during a conversation was letting me know right away what he was doing.

" You got a pretty face. How bad do you want those twenty dollars ? I heard you are some homeless guy with a huge amount of dept who runs around from loan sharks."

His words almost made me gag and punch him at the same time as I snatched my broken radio back.

" i would starve to death." I looked at him right in the eyes when i replied then walked out of the nasty place before I got some disease.

I walked away and cursed while I threw away the radio in trash can overfilled with junk.

It didn't worked at all nowadays. My neighbour was the one who give it to me and tried to make it look passable for some cash but his work for nothing.

I anxiously bit the inside of my check and crossed the street to get to work before they fired me for being late again.

Today was shittier than most days but i had to keep going on no matter what.

"Hey, are you Nate?" Before I could respond to the deep voice behind me, I was grabbed aggressively by the arm.

All I had to do was to stare at these two suspicious looking guy before yanking my arm out of the tight grip then running as fast as my feet allow me.

" That fast fu*ker ! Get him! " i heard one yell in rage to confirm that they were from some loan shark that were sent after me for not paying what I owed.
