Chapter 2 ~

NATE POV...>

    i wiped my sweaty forehead with the back of my hand and couldn't wait to be done with this wet and disgusting mess.

   this tight space was hot and uncomfortable to work in but it was the only place that is close to where I lived that didn't care I have a criminal record.

   I worked hard washing the last set of dishes and made sure they were sparkling clean before I went to have my lunch.

   I was only able to afford a slice of melon bread from a bakery down the street from this tiny restaurant.

    I usually got banana and pecan bread but that was over my budget at the moment.

    There was no point being upset about it since today's the day kai was no doubt going to chop me into tiny pieces and bury me somewhere no one would ever find my body.

   Oh well.....

    I was going to initially get on a bus and leave right away but I was not expecting him to know about my sister.

  Now I was glued to this town until I took my last breath in about three hours...so no big deal.

  No more suffering or living each day lifelessly waiting for someone to finally kill me.

I have been a liar, a thief and criminal in my entire life and there is nothing good for me now or in the future.

My opportunities got vanished the moment I was caught stealing and put behind the bars.

Now I am labelled as criminal and with that many of my rights taken away that includes getting help from basic life essential like food.

That was just how this world works.

I told myself i would have taken my life when it got too bad but I've had horrible days and nights yet still here i am....

maybe I am too much of a coward to do it or maybe my life story hasn't ended yet.

" that bread looks good. do you want some of my lunch?" andy, the waiter of this restaurant, kindly offered me as always when he sat down beside me during our lunch.

" i am fine with this. Thanks." i said and lied if I said his lasagna didn't look more than appetizing for my empty stomach.

I took another bite of my lemon bread and honestly was ready for it to be my last meal.

There was no point in continuing to live this life where i have to work a variety of minimum wage jobs and still barely have money to pay my bills or put some food in the fridge.

I was a healthy Twenty four years old man with no health problems so I have no assistance from the government nor did i ever bother to look for help since i have a bad record.

I've had to steal in the past and more things that I'm not very proud of when my little sister, Penelope, used to live with me.

Luckily, she wasn't going through that anymore and was living a better life than before.

I still missed her like crazy every day, but It was the price i had to pay to keep her happy.

"Are you okay Nate ? Your eyes are all glossy, and you have some pretty bad bruises on your face." Andy got a closer inspectIon of my face, but I turned away." I'm fIne. I just fell yesterday and i just remembered the sad cat video i saw last night." I lied and then finished my bread then got up to leave.

" Okay, um. I was wondering if you are free tonight? There's this new club opened up, and it looks area-" Andy trIed once again to hang out with him for the hundred times and i Know it's because he likes me, but I chose to keep our relationship as friends only.

He confessed three times already, and I keep turning him down.

My tough life at that moment wasn't ready to be In relationship

With anyone nor someone like him who i would surely taInt.

" I'm sorry. I have to work at another job tonight but have a drink for me." i forced a smile and went back to work.

I got home later that day and checked the time to see it was a little past five in the afternoon, i slumped down on my crubby couch

And decided to smoke cigarettes for the first and last time in my life.r

It was absolutely disgusting.

I threw it away and took a big sip of my cold beer while actually hoping Kai and his Little group will hurry up.

I was getting hungry again and didn't want to continue feeling the pain of my empty stomach.

There wasn't even a knock on the door as the usual masked intruders entered my apartment then made a room for Kai to enter.

Always makIng an entrance lIke some king.

A dreadful feeling set in seeing his dark piercing eyes makes contact with mine as i knew for a fact that he was going to kill me.

I took one last drink of the bitter bear and stood up to face my destiny that i was glad finally happened.

"kill me quickly." I stated.
