Kris' POV

"Aghh" I groaned as my head stings.

What the hell did happen last night? I can't remember anything...

"Water?"

Someone gave me a glass of water. Maybe.. I'm not fully sober and I unconsciously accepted what he gave.

"Thanks." I thanked without even looking at the person.

I was about to drink it until when I come back to my senses.

"Who are you?!" I shockingly asked.

Because I was so shocked that I accidentally threw the water at his face.

"So mean! You don't need to throw water on me! I'm clean, okay!" He complained while wiping his face with some clothe.

" Answer my question! Who are you and what the hell are you doing in my house?!"

A quickly stood up and step back a little away from him. I still haven't changed my clothes nor even wash my face and realized... I have drooled!! So I quickly wipe it away.

Seconds after the guy standing in front of me still remains silent so I got little pissed and held his collar and lift it. I threw daggers at him but...

"Hm" He smirked..

... he just gave a playful smile. I let him go and just surrendered myself talking to this crazy bastard.

" Whoever you are...can you please go away. Just open the door and step outside then close the door and get the hell out of my life!"

Its dark and messy, alone and just by myself. That's my life everyday when faith betrayed me and losed everything from me.

I went to the kitchen and get a glass of water to drink when this guy suddenly talked.

" Don't you remember what happened last night?" He said with a serious face.

.. I wanted to puke..

"God, there's something happened between us?" I said in a disgusted tone.

He literally turned red.

"Ahhh! No! There's nothing! Pervert!" He said in such a loud voice and covered his chest with his hands.

Did she just said I'm pervert?! And what's there to cover anyway if you have your clothes on and besides your a man!

" Then that's good." I said in relief.

" I don't hit boys anyways." I added..

Gosh! I was so shocked back there. I felt relieve and just drank my water and realized...

" What are you still doing here?!"

He deeply breath and look at me straight to the eyes... I suddenly felt shivers in my spine.

"Don't you really remember me?" He asked with a meaning behind his tone.

"I- Isn't it obvious?" I sounded like I was scared.

My heart keeps and beating fast

"Can you please let me finish first. I'm trying to be cool here, you know. Okay, take 2."

What the— am I scared for nothing? I'm disappointed.

I accepted what he said and remained silent. I sat on the chair beside me, look at him and waited to what he's gonna say.

"Don't you remembered me?.." He repeated.

"I'm a Grim Reaper and I was assigned to inform you that..."

I clenched my fist and what happened last night... slowly appeared in my mind.

"...that Krisseth Ji, you have 744 hours remaining to live."

I remember now.

It what happened in the midnight.

"Another boring day,.. eat, work, drink, sleep." I muttered

When did this life cycle started?

I sighed and look at the sky covered with stars while walking... That's why I accidentally stepped on the person laying on the cold street.

"Ouch!" He complained.

He's stood up and looked at me.

I frowned.

"What else... Then I'll just lock myself in my house and wait for my death." I said as if I'm agreeing to what this guy said.

He looked at me with a disapproval look.

What this guy thinking? Did he really think I would believe him?

I suddenly felt loneliness. Memories from the past flash through my mind and the things I want the forget are bugging me now.

" Don't let regret come to you." He said..

" And wait a minute, in the first place why would I believe in you. What if you're one of the crazy people wondering in the streets?"

The place become colder. There's a sudden earthquake and the ground collapsed and suddenly heard cries and screams.

"What's this?". I asked in a confusion.

I'm so confused. I'm full of questions right now of what's happening.

"What you heard are the people died with full of sadness, anger, and regrets." He answered.

"People who still haven't get and do what they want. And you still have a chance. Do you want to let go of this chance you have?"

Everything what happened and what he said left me stunned.

"Stop.." I said in a low voice.

He just gaze at me with no expression on his face.

"I said, stop this now! I'm feeling dizzy." I said while touching my head and tried to cover it with my arms.

And everything went back to normal. I went to the door and step outside.

"Where are you going?" He asked.

"Finding what to do." I irritatedly answered.

I hurriedly walk outside but this talked again.

"Wait!.. you still haven't take a bath."

He said with a smile.

Aahh shit!

I went back inside and directly went to the bathroom..

That damn guy...

After minutes past... we're here now outside in the middle of the crowd.

Agh! I still can't believe what happened.

"What should I do? To steal in the bank? Fight with some addicts? Or kidnapped the president's child?" I muttered.

"What are you thinking? What are you.. hooligan?" He interrupted.

"And why are you tailing me?"

I'm really annoyed by this guy. He has this stupid face following me around.

"Until it's your time, I'll protect you and besides.. you don't have to worry, only you can see me."

What the— I really get more anxiety talking to this guy.

I was walking and I accidentally hit someone.

I suddenly run while my ears are itching because of what I heard. I ran fast until I get away from him. I clearly remembered all the things happened last night!

" How many more jobs have I been fired?"

I just get out of the company that I work for only one week then get fired. while walking I stop in front of the bar.

"Guess.. I'm back here again."

I entered the bar and find vacant seat.

I found an empty seat beside a guy I sat there and order a drink. I started drinking. Just a few glass and I think the alcohol already hits me.

I just continue drinking until there was a girl hurriedly entered the bar and looking for someone. She look at my direction and she immediately come closer and approach the guy beside me. I thought it was me... I'm kinda disappointed.

" Why you didn't showed up earlier? You know how many reasons I came up just to excuse you?" The girl said.

Can you not talk here.. I'm being emotional here, you know.

"Sorry Cindy. I can't marry you." The guy beside me said.

Woah, woah... Don't talk things like that in here. For goodness sake! I think I should get away from here.

"Then why? Tell me... I'm not ugly! I'm well mannered and have my own knowledge, my family are wealthy and I love—" The girl started to cry.

I will have left secretly but...

I'm about to take her hand away but this guy called Kai suddenly arrive and his the one who take Cindy's hand away.

"Cindy, you better go back." He said.

"Kai.." The girl looks pitiful.

"Let's go."

He dragged me away from here.

Wait? Why I'm the one being dragged? I don't want to go with an Amazon!

But still...here we are in a cafe... Staring at each other.

"You have ten seconds to explain to me why did you involved me in your business?" I crossed my arms and acted high.

"Because.. you know.. um.."

What the hell?! I thought this guy is strict and cold but here he is now... Can't even talk properly.

"You! Can you talk fast?! My time is gold."

"I'm sorry mister... I don't have any other choice.

Look at him.. acting like he was this girl being forced to. I'm wasting my time here.

"I'll go now." I stood up.

He hold my hand and got stumbled a little and landed on his chest. My cheeks feels so hot that's why I casually pushed him. I cleared my throat.

Why it becomes hot here?

"You.." I glared at him.

"Yes?" He innocently smiled at me.

He looked like a puppy... A big puppy.

"Don't you just touch me and how old are you. How dare you call me mister."

Krisseth Ji : 27 years of existence and just realized that his youth already left him.

"Krisseth." I answered briefly without looking at him.

"Nice yo meet you Krisseth. I'm Kai Evan Parsons."

Why does his name sounds familiar? I think I heard his name somewhere.

"Can I call you Kris?" He asked again.

"Whatever." I rolled my eyes at him.

"Okay, Kris."

And that innocent smile and the flowers around him.

Tsk. I really left and ran for the better.

Staying with him makes me weird.

I ran out of breath while running all the way here. I sat on the bench.

"Gosh, my heart hurts."

"Then, why do you keep running?"

A cold presence popped out of nowhere and that really startled me thinking that it was the grim reaper.

Does he want to give me a heart attack?!

"What are you doing?" I asked.

"Why don't you just go with the flow? I think Kai Evan is a good guy." He stated.

He didn't even bothered to answer my questions and now he want to push me to that Amazon guy?

"Because..." I started.

"Because.. you are afraid. You're afraid that you will meet someone new and enter your life. You're afraid to trust others and you're afraid to open your heart again to—"

What's this guy saying? He didn't even let me finish and his talking nonsense?

"What do you know?! Don't interfere, you don't know anything." I interrupted him.

"Kris!"

Kai appeared out of blue and the grim reaper disappeared again.

"What are you doing here and how do you find me?" I asked.

He's here again. What does he want now? Is he here to annoy me again?

"Kris.. there's an emergency." He worriedly approached me.

-Parsons' residence-

"Let's go honey, they're all waiting."

Kai reached his hand to me and helped me get out of the car. When we got out of the car, all eyes are on us. I felt pressured on every gaze.
