I lost again

It's been a month ever since she came into my life. I am now great at my academics, and I have learned sign language, too. I thought I should give her a “Thank You” treat. Furthermore, I checked my purse and my piggyback to check whether I have enough money to pay the restaurant food. Thank God, I have enough money to pay. After this, I slept peacefully.

In the morning, I woke up early and took my money with me.

As soon as I entered my class , I asked by using sign language Elena if she was free after school. She calmly shocked her head to refuse to go see her , not why I blushed, and I felt the same feeling as before in my heart .

As I was looking at her, I quickly came to my senses when I noticed her bruises on her legs, cheek, ears, fingers, and hands. I asked her, and she said she fell from the stairs badly by using her hands. And I knew she lied.

Then the bell rang, and we sat on our benches. When I sat, I made up my mind to follow her to learn the truth.

When the school was over, the first thing I did was to call my boss that I was not coming to work today. Then I started following her. And we finally reached her home. It was a smelly place that anyone could imagine. The house was way dirtier than my school toilets.

Elena went inside, and I stayed outside, after like 2 seconds, I heard a man screaming angrily, asking for money, and breaking off glass. I quickly went inside to see a bottle of alcohol broken, shattered into tiny pieces, and some pieces gave cuts to Elena. I quickly ran to her and hugged her tightly. The man asked me many questions like, "Who am I?"," How I am here?" etc. Instead of answering his questions, I asked him that who is he to her and what does he wanted. He turned out to be her biological father, and he kept saying he wanted money. Then I quickly threw the money I had in my pocket to him.

Then I took her hand and ran away as fast as we could. We didn't t know where we were going, but we were just going . Then, after some time, we both got tired and took a bit of rest by sitting on a park bench.

We looked at each other and laughed. I didn't ask questions because the day was already heavy for her. After some minutes, she said thanked me with her hand cutely. I asked her why she lives with him by using sign language. She replied by telling me her life story so innocently and cutely.

Turned out her father used to beat her mother too, and one day, he beat her so brutally that she had lost her life. Elena was in the closet because her mother locked her in to save her. Tragically, since that day, Elena lost her sense of hearing.

I was sad for her. Then I took her hand and took her to my house. I told her from now on that she will live with me. She refused and asked too many questions like what my parents would say. I told her my parents love guests and helping others in need. It was obvious I lied, but she didn't notice. The truth was my father hadn't cared about me since that day, and I lost my mother the day I was born. Maybe that's why Father hated me from the beginning. I know he is keeping me alive either to marry me off for a business partnership or make me be in his place one day after him.

Days passed by. She has new friends now,even Ryan was her friend. I didn't try to stop her and didn't warn her because surprisingly he was good to her.She says it's because of me, but true is I am not.And I realized I fell in love with her.

One day, she told me something that she had loved Ryan for a long time, and she also confessed to him, and now she is her girlfriend. I asked why she hadn't told me, and she said it always slipped off my mind, and we were busy with the exam, so she didn't want to disturb me.

I was sad to realize I lost again but didn't show to her.
