The rain hammered the rooftop like it wanted to punish them both.
Kaito’s face stayed buried in Reo’s soaked shirt. He couldn’t move. His whole body shook, cold, anger, shame, need.
Reo held him tight. One large hand kept stroking Kaito’s wet black hair, slow and gentle. The other rested on his back, pressing him closer.
Minutes passed. Ten. Maybe twenty. Only the sound of rain and Reo’s steady heartbeat.
Kaito finally spoke, voice small and cracked.
Kaito: “Let me go.”
Reo didn’t even blink.
Reo: “No.”
Kaito pushed weakly at Reo’s chest.
Kaito: “I said let go!”
Reo’s arms only tightened.
Reo: “Hit me. Scream. Do whatever you want. I’m not letting you run tonight.”
Kaito punched Reo’s chest once. Twice. Weak hits. Then his hands just stayed there, fingers curling into the wet fabric.
Kaito (whisper): “…I hate this.”
Reo: “I know.”
Kaito: “I hate you.”
Reo: “Say it a hundred times if it helps.”
Silence again. Only rain.
Reo bent down and pressed a soft kiss to the top of Kaito’s soaked hair.
Reo (so quiet): “You’re freezing. Come inside.”
Before Kaito could fight, Reo slid one arm under Kaito’s knees, the other behind his back, and lifted him like he weighed nothing.
Kaito’s eyes went huge.
Kaito: “Put me down! Now!”
Reo: “No.”
He carried Kaito through the rooftop door, down a private hallway, into a dark penthouse. Black marble floors, silver lights, warm air. Smelled like Reo everywhere.
Reo set Kaito gently on a wide black couch, then knelt in front of him, blocking any escape.
Kaito tried to stand.
Reo placed one hand on his shoulder and pushed him back down, gentle but firm.
Reo: “Stay.”
He disappeared for ten seconds, came back with a thick white towel and a soft black hoodie.
Reo knelt again. He dried Kaito’s hair himself, slow, careful, like Kaito was something precious.
Kaito sat frozen, cheeks burning.
Then Reo pulled the huge hoodie over Kaito’s head. It swallowed him, sleeves too long, hem to his thighs. It smelled like Reo.
Reo: “Better.”
Kaito looked up.
Reo’s wet shirt clung to every muscle. Chocolate-brown hair dripped onto his sharp jaw. Grey eyes looked softer than ever.
Kaito swallowed hard.
Kaito: “…Why are you being nice to me?”
Reo sat beside him, close enough that their thighs touched.
Reo: “Because you’re mine.”
Kaito turned his face away fast.
Kaito (quiet): “I’m not anyone’s.”
Reo reached out, fingers gentle under Kaito’s chin, turning him back.
Reo: “Then why are you still here, little wolf?”
Kaito opened his mouth. Closed it. No words came.
Reo leaned in, slow, giving Kaito every chance to push him away.
Kaito didn’t move.
Their second kiss tasted like rain, smoke, and surrender.
Soft at first. Then deeper.
Reo’s hand cupped Kaito’s face like he was afraid he’d break.
When they pulled apart, Kaito’s eyes were wet.
Reo rested their foreheads together.
Reo (whisper): “Stay tonight.”
Kaito closed his eyes and, for the first time, didn’t say no.
