Chapter 1: A Dream in the Sky

Shree had always dreamed big, even when the world around her seemed small. Growing up

in a middle-class family in a quiet town, where everything moved at its own steady pace, she

had always been the dreamer—the one who spoke of things that felt impossible to others. But

she was determined, driven by a fierce belief that she could break free from the limitations of

her surroundings. Her ambition was unwavering: to be the first successful businesswoman in

her family.

Years of hard work, sacrifices, and relentless effort had finally paid off. She had landed her

first big break—a marketing job at a reputable firm—and the seeds of her ambition were

beginning to sprout. But the true pinnacle of her journey still lay ahead. Her dream had

always been to study abroad, to push herself further, to immerse herself in a world where

business and culture collided in ways she had always admired. After years of quiet

determination, the day had come.

Her family, initially skeptical of her dreams, had finally seen the fire in her heart. They had

come around, convincing her to pursue an MBA in marketing in Japan—a place where the

business world thrived and cultural complexity added new dimensions to everything. They

were proud of her, but the thought of letting her go—of letting their daughter venture so far

from home—was harder than they had expected. Yet they stood behind her, and with their

blessing, she knew that the next chapter of her life was about to unfold.

As the departure day neared, Shree felt a mix of excitement and nervousness. Saying goodbye

to her small but loving family was harder than she had imagined. Her parents, though proud,

couldn't mask their worries. But she promised them she would return successful and ready to

take on the world. With a final hug, she stepped onto the plane, leaving behind the only home

she had ever known, setting off for a new life, a new dream.

Once settled in her seat, Shree gazed out the window. The ground below seemed to grow

smaller with every passing second, and the landscape blurred into a patchwork of green and

brown. Her heart raced with anticipation—this was it. Her dream, years in the making, was

finally coming true.

But then, as though fate had other plans, she glanced to her side. A man sat next to her—tall,

with an aura that was impossible to ignore. His presence was commanding without being

loud. For a moment, the world around her seemed to slow, as if everything had shifted out of

focus. His fair skin, a dusting of freckles across his nose, made him seem both familiar and

distant at once. His amber eyes caught the light, glowing like molten honey, pulling her gaze

in. They seemed to hold secrets—stories she wasn’t meant to know, mysteries that whispered

just beneath the surface.

His hair—curly, wild, and untamed—framed his face in a carelessness that somehow suited

him perfectly. Every strand seemed to fall with purpose, yet it defied all order. It was as

though he had no time for rules, living freely, but there was something about him that made

Shree’s heart ache in a way she couldn’t explain. She sensed a deep, unspoken sadness in

him, a quiet pain that lingered beneath the surface. His eyes were not just amber; they were

oceans of emotion, holding sorrow and untold stories, and for a brief moment, Shree found

herself drawn into that space.

Unable to ignore the pull, she turned to him, her voice a little shaky as she spoke. "Hey, are

you okay?" Her heart skipped a beat as the words left her mouth, unsure if she had

overstepped.

The man looked at her, his expression softening, but the sadness in his eyes remained like a

shadow behind his gaze. "Yes, I'm good. Thanks for your concern," he replied, his voice low

and smooth. But there was something about the way he said it—his words polite but distant—

that made Shree feel like there was much more he wasn’t saying.

She nodded, trying to shake the feeling that something was deeply off. His words had been

courteous, yet there was an unmistakable distance between them, like he was holding

something back. And that sadness in his eyes—the deep, haunting sadness—planted a seed in

her heart. It was as though she could feel his pain, as though it resonated deep within her own

chest. For reasons she couldn’t explain, she wanted to know more.

What could have caused such sorrow in someone who seemed so at ease on the outside? Why

did it feel like he was fighting a battle only he could understand?

As the flight continued, Shree found herself lost in thought, torn between her excitement for

the future and the mysterious stranger sitting next to her. His amber eyes seemed to hold the

weight of a thousand untold stories. She couldn’t shake the feeling that their paths had

crossed for a reason. But what that reason was, she couldn't yet tell.

Little did she know, this chance encounter would lead to a journey that would change not just

her life, but his as well.

The plane soared onward, and Shree’s journey into her dreams was just
