May Be Yes, May Be No

Internal Monologue — Mira, 8:42 PM

The word yes lingers in Mira’s chest like a stone dropped into still water.

She had said it. For the first time, she had broken free from “maybe.”

But now, certainty feels heavy.

Mira (thinking): Was it liberation? Or a new prison?

Mira (thinking): May be it’s not what I can ignore.

Mira (thinking): May be it’s not what I could change.

She replays the moment: Arjun’s face lighting up when she finally said “yes.” The relief in his voice. The warmth in his silence. And yet, beneath her relief, a tremor of fear.

Chat Log — 9:15 PM, Mira and Arjun

Arjun: You’ve been quiet since last night.

Mira: I’m thinking.

Arjun: About your “yes”?

Mira: Yes.

Arjun: Do you regret it?

Mira: May be it’s not sad as it meant to be.

Arjun: That’s evasive.

Mira: I don’t regret it. But certainty feels… suffocating.

Arjun: Suffocating?

Mira: Like I’ve locked myself into a room.

Arjun: Or opened a door.

Mira: May be it’s the only thing I can do.

Arjun: Mira, you can’t keep twisting. You said yes. That means something.

Mira: But what if tomorrow I feel differently?

Arjun: Then we face it tomorrow. Certainty doesn’t mean permanence. It means honesty in the moment.

Mira: May be it’s not in my likings.

Arjun: Then why did you say it?

Mira: Because I wanted to stop losing you.

Arjun: And now?

Mira: Now I’m afraid of losing myself.

Arjun: Mira, listen. “Yes” isn’t a prison. It’s a bridge.

Mira: Bridges can collapse.

Arjun: But they also connect.

Mira: May be it’s not interesting to you, but to me, certainty feels dangerous.

Arjun: Dangerous how?

Mira: Because it exposes me. Vulnerability is raw.

Arjun: Vulnerability is real.

Mira: May be it’s all in my head.

Arjun: Or maybe it’s the first step toward freedom.

Mira: Freedom scares me too.

Arjun: Then what doesn’t scare you?

Mira: Doubt.

Arjun: Doubt is safe, but it’s lonely.

Mira: May be it’s not what I choose to be.

Arjun: You already chose. You said yes.

Mira: And now I’m suffocating.

Arjun: Then breathe. Certainty isn’t chains. It’s clarity.

Mira: Clarity feels sharp.

Arjun: Sharpness cuts illusions.

Mira: Do you think I’ll get used to it?

Arjun: To certainty? Yes. If you let yourself.

Mira: May be it’s not what I can ignore.

Arjun: Then don’t ignore it. Face it.

Mira: Facing it feels like standing naked in a storm.

Arjun: And yet, storms pass.

Mira: May be it’s not sad as it meant to be.

Arjun: No. It’s growth.

Mira: Growth hurts.

Arjun: But pain isn’t always punishment. Sometimes it’s progress.

Mira: May be it’s not what I could change.

Arjun: You already changed. You said yes.

Mira: And now I wonder if I can keep saying it.

Arjun: You don’t have to promise forever. Just promise now.

Mira: May be… no. Yes.

Arjun: That’s all I need.

Chat ends — 10:02 PM. Mira lies awake, realizing certainty is both liberating and suffocating. It exposes her fears but also connects her to Arjun. For the first time, she sees “yes” not as a cage, but as a fragile bridge she must learn to walk across.

Would you like Episode 8 to shift the focus inward again, showing Mira confronting her own identity beyond Arjun — asking if “yes” to him also means “yes” to herself?
