CHAPTER 1

I looked around my room. Then glanced at the clock, 4 a.m. "what a joke." I breathed out to myself. After taking phone into my hands and just scrolling through TikTok like I always did when waking up too early in the morning, I saw HIM.

He was everywhere, literally, every video, every hunter rankings and every hashtag pins.

Top 1, 16 years old Hunter Yoo Joonghyuk.

I rolled my eyes annoyed and just left my phone on the bed.

I stood up and went to the bathroom, just to check my face. I turned off my skill [ illusion fusion I.] that made an illusion on my face so it seemed unwounded and I glanced at my beated up face.

"Get a hold of yourself Kim Dokja. Just don't give up." I tried to cheer myself up. This was already my routine, trying to survive at school and all...

I packed my backpack and dressed up for school, then I quietly left my uncle's and aunt's apartment to go to that building everyone hates.

I arrived at the gates in about 28 minutes and it was already 6:12 a.m. I walked to the class and sat down in my seat, just like yesterday, two days earlier and so on. After the first class I stood up

and slipped away from the classroom unnoticed.

After arriving at the library - where I often hid from my bullies - I took out my books and did my

homework for the next lectures.

After classes I went to my house and just passed by my aunt not saying anything, she looked at me disgusted but said nothing too. I walked to my room and just decided to study for my tests since I am a boring and 'normal' person.

At 7:47 p.m. I stood up from my paperwork and activated skill [ facial understanding III. ]

In short this skill worked pretty similar to my other one [ The Fourth Wall. ], it blurred my face and all but 'facial understanding' made it completely seem like I have no face.

I sneaked out of the house and went to take a walk, my legs took me to the nearby river where I usually came when I was bothered by something, or just was in trouble. I sat down on the grass and looked at the moving water, the sun reflected in it with a beautiful purple light.

I heard some annoyed deep voice behind me talking with someone else through a phone but I payed no mind to that and then I felt something flying my way with an unbelievable speed.

I moved my head to the right and the object which was a sword cut through the air next to my head and then water with a lightning speed.

I turned around to see who was capable of doing that and that's where I saw HIM - Joo Joonghyuk.
