CHAPTER 2

I turned around and saw Joo Joonghyuk. His face was cold and he looked annoyed. I glanced at him in an asking manner and just sat still. He looked back at me and there was a flicker of surprise in his expression.

A voice in his phone started 'praying' something like "please, please, please don't kill anybody." But I didn't quite catch it. The top ranker looked at me and at his sword in the water. He then said "Did you just dodge it?" A shiver ran down my spine and I replied. "I didn't, it just flew next to my head." He looked at me as if thinking of believing me or not.

He closed the gap between us and leaned to the water. He took his sword and looked at me sideways. I tried to smile and all but it didn't quite work. "I'm sure I didn't aim at the water." He said suspicious.

"So you're agreeing that you wanted to kill me?" I breathed out quietly. He glared at me, and I guessed I made him even more annoyed. I stood up and bowed low, "I'm sorry for my lack of manners." I apologized loud enough for him to hear.

He nodded but drew out his second sword and threw it at my feet. I looked up at him. "Take it, I wanna have a duel. Don't worry not to death." He said almost disappointed with his words. I leaned down and grabbed the weapon.

I randomly remembered that my skill [ facial understanding III. ] was activated so I had no reason to be scared that he'll know who I am.

Suddenly my phone rang and I took it out of my pocket, it was my aunt. I cursed under my breath but accepted the call. Soon I heard her voice.

"Where the fuck are you? I haven't said you can go out. Get your ass back before I find you." I rolled my eyes and said back "Shut up, I don't remember you caring for me so don't even try making me go back."

She stayed silent for a minute and then breathed out "Don't come home after 10 pm." I replied with a simple "mhm." And she ended the call. I looked back at Joo Joonghyuk, he raised an eyebrow and I just shook my head. I took my fighting pose and looked into his eyes.

To my surprise he smiled. A person who never smiled in a camera, in photos or smiled at all just did that in front of me. "... why are you smiling?" I looked at him confused. "Becouse you're funny." He said amused. "Excuse me?" I breathed out slightly annoyed, he smiled more "Excuse you."
