LIGHT'S CAMERA AND LOVE 1

Jungkook adjusted his jacket, the chill of the mountain air nipping at his skin as the sun began its slow descent behind the distant peaks. The golden hour was perfect, and he couldn't wait to capture the moment for his channel. But as always, his eyes flicked not to the horizon, but to the man standing a few feet away, hunched over the camera, focused on getting the perfect shot.

Taehyung.

Jungkook had always been grateful for Taehyung's work behind the lens. His friend had a natural eye for beauty, and every video they made together seemed to carry an extra layer of magic because of him. The way he captured light, the way he framed each shot, it was like he saw the world differently. And lately, Jungkook couldn't help but wonder if Taehyung saw him differently, too.

But that was wishful thinking.

Taehyung, completely absorbed in his work, was oblivious to Jungkook's quiet longing. He was professional, charming in his own way, but never gave any signs of seeing Jungkook as anything other than his boss, his friend.

"Ready when you are," Taehyung called, his deep voice a soothing melody that always sent a shiver down Jungkook's spine. He was crouched behind the camera, adjusting the settings for the perfect shot.

Jungkook smiled, trying to push aside the flutter in his chest. "Yeah, let's do this."

As he stood in front of the camera, his usual charismatic grin slipped into place. He was good at this-being confident, charming, the perfect YouTuber. But lately, something felt off. No matter how many times he stood in front of Taehyung's lens, he could never stop his heart from racing. It wasn't the camera that made him nervous; it was the man behind it.

"Hey guys!" Jungkook began, flashing his signature smile at the camera. "Today, we're here at the beautiful Seoraksan Mountain, and let me tell you, this view is absolutely breathtaking. You won't believe how amazing it looks up close."

As he continued with his lines, describing the scenery and the adventure of the day, his mind wandered. He couldn't help but sneak glances at Taehyung, who was focusing intently, occasionally nodding to himself as he checked the angles. His soft brown hair fell into his eyes, and his lips were pressed into a thin line of concentration.

Jungkook sighed inwardly. How could Taehyung not know?

The truth was, Jungkook had fallen for him slowly-so slowly that he hadn't even realized it at first. It was in the quiet moments between shoots, the late-night editing sessions, and the way Taehyung always made sure he was comfortable during long filming days. It was the way he laughed, deep and throaty, when something amused him. It was the way he absentmindedly hummed while working, completely unaware of how endearing it was.

But most of all, it was the way Taehyung looked at everything with such wonder, like the world was a place full of stories waiting to be told. Jungkook wished, more than anything, that Taehyung would look at him that way, just once.

"All done!" Taehyung's voice snapped Jungkook out of his thoughts. He blinked, realizing he had finished his lines without even thinking about it.

"Great," Jungkook said, a little breathless, as he walked over to Taehyung. "Let's check out the footage."

Taehyung nodded, standing up and dusting off his jeans. He handed the camera to Jungkook, their fingers brushing for a split second. It was nothing, just a casual touch, but to Jungkook, it sent sparks racing up his arm. He swallowed hard, hoping Taehyung didn't notice the sudden blush creeping up his neck.

They huddled close, reviewing the footage on the small screen. Taehyung's shoulder pressed lightly against Jungkook's, and Jungkook's heart skipped a beat. He tried to focus on the video, but all he could think about was how close Taehyung was, how easy it would be to just reach out and-

"It's perfect," Taehyung said softly, pulling Jungkook out of his daydream. He was smiling, satisfied with the shot. "You're getting better at this, you know. Not that you weren't great before, but..." Taehyung chuckled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "I guess you're just a natural."

Jungkook's chest tightened. "Thanks," he mumbled, unable to stop the small smile spreading across his face. God, why did Taehyung have to be so effortlessly charming?

As they packed up the gear and prepared to head back down the mountain, the sun finally dipped below the horizon, casting everything in a soft, dusky glow. Jungkook glanced over at Taehyung, who was humming quietly to himself, the setting sun catching in his eyes.

He knew he was falling deeper. He just didn't know how long he could keep his feelings hidden.

The descent down the mountain was filled with comfortable silence. The soft crunch of gravel beneath their boots was the only sound, punctuated by the occasional rustle of leaves in the gentle breeze. Jungkook tried to focus on the path ahead, but his mind was still buzzing with thoughts of Taehyung.

"Do you ever get tired of all this?" Taehyung asked suddenly, breaking the silence. He glanced at Jungkook, his expression thoughtful. "I mean, filming all the time and being in front of the camera?"

Jungkook paused, considering the question. "Sometimes. But not when I'm with you." The words slipped out before he could stop them, and he felt a rush of heat flood his cheeks.

Taehyung raised an eyebrow, clearly taken aback. "Oh, really?"

"Yeah!" Jungkook scrambled to recover. "I mean, I like the adventure part, but you make it so much more fun. Your creativity really adds something special."

Taehyung chuckled, but Jungkook could see the faint blush creeping onto his cheeks as well. "Thanks. I appreciate that."

As they reached the bottom of the trail, they were greeted by the sound of the bustling parking lot, filled with other tourists packing up their own gear. Jungkook felt a pang of disappointment at the end of their peaceful moment but pushed it aside, focusing on the next task at hand: editing the day's footage.

Back in the car, Jungkook switched on the music, filling the air with soft melodies as they drove back to their shared apartment. He occasionally glanced over at Taehyung, who was humming along, oblivious to the longing in Jungkook's heart.

Once they arrived home, they set up their workspace in the living room, an area cluttered with equipment, hard drives, and snacks.

Jungkook took a seat at the editing desk, feeling the familiar surge of excitement as he began to review the footage.

"Do you want to order dinner?" Taehyung asked, his eyes still glued to the screen. "I can go pick it up if you want."

Jungkook hesitated. "Uh, how about we order in? It'll be easier, and we can get back to editing faster."

"Good idea," Taehyung replied, pulling out his phone to browse local restaurants. Jungkook's heart fluttered at the casual way they worked together, and he couldn't shake the feeling of wanting to be more than just friends.

As they waited for dinner, Jungkook tried to concentrate on editing. But with Taehyung sitting so close, his focus kept drifting. The way Taehyung leaned over the desk, his hair falling into his eyes, made Jungkook's heart race. Every laugh, every comment, pulled him deeper into the comfortable atmosphere they shared.

"Hey, what do you think about this shot?"

Taehyung asked, leaning in closer, his shoulder brushing against Jungkook's. Jungkook swallowed hard, trying to remain calm. "It's really good, right?"

Jungkook nodded, struggling to find his voice. "Yeah, it's perfect. You always know how to capture the best moments."

Taehyung grinned, his face lighting up with the compliment. "Thanks! It's easy when you give me so much to work with."

They continued to edit the footage, sharing snacks and stories, the atmosphere buzzing with laughter and camaraderie. But as the night wore on, Jungkook felt the familiar tension building. Every shared glance felt heavy with unspoken words. He wanted to tell Taehyung how he felt, but the fear of ruining their friendship held him back.

Just as he was about to gather his courage, the doorbell rang, interrupting his thoughts. "Dinner!" Taehyung exclaimed, jumping up from his seat and heading for the door.

Jungkook watched him go, a mixture of frustration and relief swirling in his chest. Maybe tonight wasn't the night.

As they sat down to eat, Jungkook's mind wandered again. Taehyung was animated as he recounted a funny story from their last shoot, his laughter ringing through the air like music. Jungkook couldn't help but admire him-how could someone so oblivious be so effortlessly captivating?

"Hey, Jungkook, are you even listening?"

Taehyung asked, a playful smile on his lips.

Jungkook snapped back to reality, a bit embarrassed. "Sorry! What were you saying?"

"I was just saying how funny it was when that dog photobombed us at the park last week. You should've seen your face!" Taehyung chuckled, his eyes sparkling with amusement.

Jungkook laughed along, but his thoughts lingered on the weight of what he wanted to say. They finished dinner, and as they cleared the table, Jungkook's heart raced again.

"Hey, Taehyung," he started, his voice shaking slightly. "I wanted to talk about something... something important."

Taehyung paused, turning to face him, his expression shifting to curiosity. "What's up?"

Jungkook took a deep breath, feeling the pressure of the moment. But just as he was about to speak, Taehyung's phone buzzed on the table, distracting him.

"Sorry, I should check this," Taehyung said, grabbing his phone and reading a message.

Jungkook watched as Taehyung's expression changed, a hint of disappointment crossing his features. "It's just my friend asking if I want to go out this weekend," Taehyung said, his tone a bit deflated.

"Oh." Jungkook felt a sudden pang of jealousy. "Are you going?"

"Maybe," Taehyung replied, shrugging. "It depends on what I have going on. I mean, I'd rather just hang out with you."

Jungkook's heart soared at the words, but he also felt a flicker of uncertainty. If Taehyung wanted to go out, maybe he wouldn't have time for Jungkook. "You should have fun! I'm sure they'd love to see you," Jungkook said, trying to hide his own disappointment.

"Yeah, maybe," Taehyung said, his gaze distant.

The moment hung heavy between them, and Jungkook felt the weight of unspoken feelings pressing down. He wanted to scream, to confess everything, but the fear of losing what they had held him back.

"Let's get back to editing," Jungkook said, breaking the tension. He turned back to the computer, feeling both relieved and frustrated at the same time.

They resumed their work in silence, the atmosphere still charged with the things left unsaid. Jungkook couldn't shake the feeling that time was slipping away, and he needed to find a way to let Taehyung know how he truly felt before it was too late.
