Wei Wuxian quickly realized something strange.
The servants feared Lan Wangji.
The guards avoided his eyes.
Enemies trembled at his name.
But with Wei Wuxian?
Lan Wangji poured his tea.
Lan Wangji adjusted his coat.
Lan Wangji stood closer whenever danger appeared.
One night, Wei Wuxian joked, “Boss Lan, are you secretly nice?”
Lan Wangji replied calmly, “Only to you.”
Wei Wuxian choked on his drink. “Excuse me?!”
Lan Wangji looked at him seriously. “You’re my husband.”
No possessiveness. No force. Just certainty.
And somehow… Wei Wuxian didn’t hate it.
Wei Wuxian learned one thing very quickly.
Living in a mafia boss’s house came with too many rules.
“No running in the hallway.”
“No touching weapons.”
“No entering restricted rooms.”
“No leaving without guards.”
Wei Wuxian read the rule board twice, then laughed.
“Did I marry a husband,” he muttered, “or a prison system?”
As if summoned, Lan Wangji appeared behind him.
“You don’t like the rules?” Lan Wangji asked calmly.
Wei Wuxian turned around. “I respect rules. I just don’t follow boring ones.”
The guards nearby froze.
No one talked to Lan Wangji like that.
Lan Wangji looked at Wei Wuxian for a moment…
then said, “Some rules can change.”
Everyone else: 😨
Wei Wuxian blinked. “Wait, really?”
“Yes,” Lan Wangji replied. “As long as you’re safe.”
Wei Wuxian smiled. “Wow. You’re spoiling me already, husband.”
Lan Wangji didn’t deny it.
Later that day, Wei Wuxian wandered into the garden alone. It was peaceful—too peaceful for a mafia house.
Suddenly, a man in black rushed toward him.
Wei Wuxian reacted fast. He grabbed a flower pot and threw it.
Crash.
The man fell.
Before Wei Wuxian could say anything, guns were raised everywhere.
Lan Wangji appeared instantly, his expression cold and dangerous.
“Who sent you?” Lan Wangji asked the intruder.
The man trembled. “I—I don’t know! Someone paid me!”
Lan Wangji didn’t even look at him again. He waved his hand.
“Remove him.”
The guards dragged the man away.
Wei Wuxian stared. “So… this is a normal afternoon for you?”
Lan Wangji turned to him, voice softer. “Did he touch you?”
“No,” Wei Wuxian said honestly. “But I almost knocked him out.”
Lan Wangji’s lips moved slightly.
Was that… a smile?
That night, Wei Wuxian knocked on Lan Wangji’s study door.
“You busy?” he asked.
Lan Wangji shook his head. “Come in.”
Wei Wuxian sat on the desk casually. “Someone’s
targeting your house. Mystery time.”
Lan Wangji looked at him. “Are you afraid?”
Wei Wuxian grinned. “Please. I married danger.”
Lan Wangji stood up, stepped closer, and said quietly,
“Then I’ll make sure danger never touches you.”
Wei Wuxian felt his heartbeat skip.
This arranged marriage was getting suspiciously… nice.
That's all
