The beast they created pt 2

I could feel it rummaging and expanding inside me. Something was changing. Something I didn't know. Something I wasn't going to be able to control.

When they brought me out. I felt different. I sensed it. Everything felt sharper. My eyes, nose, speed. My senses were too keen.

"Release him."

My supposed father said.

"We'll have to test him first to know how good he is"

My father nodded with an obvious delight that made me sick to the stomach.

"Go ahead"

He gave his approval. The lab attendants loosened the chains that I had been chained to.

Immediately. I jumped down and I couldn't feel the weight of my body.

"Catch"

They threw an apple at me and I caught it before it could hit the floor.

Then my father smiled. He was quite impressed.

"Impressive"

I said.

"That's not all"

The Medic said.

A sock was thrown at me.

"Find this?"

I picked up the scent and sourced the lab attendant that owned it in less than a second.

My father couldn't hide his delight.

"That's not all, he's got one more trick he needs to perform so that we'll know"

That very moment, the rooftop opened and the full moon appeared. For the first time, my wolf was triggered.

I transformed. I could feel my bones stretching, the fur covering my skin. My breath was shortening. I could feel all of it happening at once.

I grew twice the size of a regular wolf and that was when I knew that something was wrong.

"Magnificent. Oh Frank, you're a genius. This is the first time I'm seeing a wolf this size. With this, our enemies will be no match for us"

Just then as my father was gloating. The beast took control. Before I could process what was going on.

I was destroying everything in the lab and attacking everyone. Everyone started running in different directions.

Just then, beneath my feet I could hear a voice begging for his life.

"Caleb please don't kill me. It's me-me-me Dr Frank"

Before I could think it through. I woke up. Panting. Looking at the floor, I saw the broken mirror. I sighed.

I hated the fact that I always woke up at that part. Where Dr Frank was begging me. I don't know why I couldn't seem to get past that part of my nightmares.

The morning sun reflected harshly into my dorm as I made my breakfast, nothing really heavy. Just cereal and milk.

Then I heard a knock on my door. I was curious.

"Who dared knock on the beast's door?"

I placed the bowl down as I tried to sense if it was danger looking for me. But it was just Justin.

"Justin you don't need to knock, you come in"

The doorknob turned and he came in.

"So-so-sorry"

He managed to spew with his glasses hiding his eyes.

"It's okay. I'm used to your stupidity by now".

That was when it hit me. I perceived it. Someone else was with him.

"Who are you? Come in if you wish to die?"

Immediately Justin shoved himself to the corner. I was preparing to pounce on whoever appeared and then she came in.

The entire world paused for a moment. Her scent filled my body and there was something else. Something else was happening to my wolf. It was jumping inside me with the words.

“Mate, mate, mate”

It was clear without regard that this was my mate. I stared at her, oblivious of who she was and what she was doing here. But what I didn't know was that this human standing before me was about to change my life forever.
