chapter 4 first Dance

At dinner, Zan tries to act calm and innocent even though everything feels tense. When Aunty Ling collapses, Zan attempts to lift her, but things turn chaotic. Yibo’s face turns pale, yet he stays composed and orders the guards to take Aunty Ling away.

After that, an awkward silence fills the dining room. Zan tries to leave, but Yibo stops him and makes him sit down to finish dinner. Zan becomes nervous, stammering and trying to avoid eye contact. Yibo realizes he shouted at him and apologizes, showing a softer side.

Yibo announces that he will introduce Zan to a teacher — Miss Magia. Zan becomes extremely nervous, hoping someone will rescue him from the situation.

Living Room Introduction

In the living room, Miss Magia greets Yibo respectfully. She is elegant and beautiful. However, her attitude toward Zan is slightly arrogant.

Yibo coldly reminds her:

“I am your fiancé. Watch your words.”

Zan, pretending innocence, says he doesn’t mind. But the atmosphere becomes tense.

When Zan asks if Magia will stay, Yibo immediately refuses, shocking everyone. Magia leaves disappointed.

The Practice Room – Dance Scene

When Zan tries to escape to his room, Yibo grabs his waist and carries him bridal-style to the practice room.

Music begins.

Yibo holds out his hand.

“Let’s dance, Miss Zan.”

Zan panics because he doesn’t know how to dance. Yibo pulls him close — too close. Zan can feel his breath. He trembles.

They almost fall, Zan grabs Yibo’s neck, and Yibo whispers teasingly:

“Do you want to stay like this?”

Zan quickly pulls away, embarrassed.

Yibo patiently teaches him the steps:

His left foot forward

Zan’s right foot backward

Relax and follow the lead

Look into your partner’s eyes

After many mistakes (and many times stepping on Yibo’s foot), Zan finally learns the steps.

When he proudly looks down at his feet, Yibo says:

“You shouldn’t look down. Look at your partner.”

Zan slowly raises his head and looks into Yibo’s eyes.

The tension becomes intense.

Suddenly, Yibo stops.

Zan nervously asks if he did something wrong.

Yibo calmly replies:

“All your movements were correct.”

But something in his gaze says the problem isn’t the dance —

it’s the feelings.
