The morning sun filtered through the twisting canopy, casting long, dappled shadows across the forest floor. The Diwata unleashed a swirl of wind magic, lifting the Aswang off balance. Teo lunged, channeling his energy into a precise slash across its side. The creature screeched, then vanished into shadows, leaving behind only a faint trail of black smoke.

Villagers cautiously emerged from their homes. An older woman approached, her face lined with worry and relief.
"Salamat po... you saved our children," she said. "But the Aswang... it will return."
Teo nodded, wiping sweat from his brow. "Don't worry. I'll protect your village. I'm just getting started."
The system highlighted the next quest: "Investigate source of Aswang attacks. Possible rogue magic." Teo realized that these were not random events-something or someone was corrupting the creatures, perhaps connected to the rogue god he would eventually confront.
That evening, Teo sat by a fire with the villagers, listening to tales of Aswang attacks, cursed forests, and missing travelers. Each story added pieces to a puzzle, giving him insight into the creatures' patterns, weaknesses, and the folklore rules he would have to follow.
Amihan hovered nearby. "You have a strong heart, Mateo. But be careful. The creatures you fight are just the beginning. This world has monsters of all sizes, and some are cunning beyond your imagination."
Teo clenched his fist, looking toward the darkening forest. "I don't care how strong they are. If they threaten innocent people... I'll take them down."
And so, his legend began-not as a human first responder, but as a rising hero in a world where myth and reality intertwined, and where every night could bring a new Aswang, a new challenge, and a new test of courage.
